Was never a guarantee he would come here if he was allowed to leave, but that is who I was hoping would be one of the extra few coming in we need .. badly. The word was he wanted to come here to play games and as it is home for him more or less, it was close to being done.

If he isn't coming then that is that then.

Anyway, I just posted in another thread about players I have never heard of being linked, OP, this one is another ... his stats look decent at a glance?? .. will have to give his compilations a look if there is any on Youtube or owt :D

you might as well say Bergkamp. Or when looking at scottish league strikers you could say Kris Boyd.....or Mark Viduka. You look at each player on individual merit

Anyway, from the obligatory youtube, clearly a gifted technical player, and has the size to go with it. Can he convert it to england, who knows. But considering he was just aged 20-22 in the clips I saw and is a 1 in 3 striker at that level, he must have something about him. Interesting link.
 
£7.5m seems high to me as well - I expect to pay £3m plus add ons - its a big risk if he will step up and at £7.5m he needs to at the stage as ready for the Championship - he could be a younger version of Braithwaite. The Dutch League to me is the equivalent of the Scottish Premier. Groningen are a mid table team.

Would anyone pay £7.5m for a 22 year old St Johnstone forward with 1 cap for Norway?

For say around £3m we could get Lucas Joao from Reading with a decent strike record and who is used to the Championship.

The dutch league is a dreadul standard outside of 3 or 4 teams

I remember how good youtube made Alves look, infact he looked like the greatest striker of all time..what did he score the season before we signed him, about 40 goals?
 
If he has been scouted a few times, he must bring something to the team up front. I personally hope we get him in as he looks decent. Yes the Dutch league is not a strong one and over 7M is a gamble. I'm not sure that amount of money is going to buy you a decent striker in the prem or championship is it.
