Jonathan Woodgate

Which is odd, because the way things feel at the minute, are eerily reminiscent of the way they were when he was last in charge.
I fear that there may well be an unhealthy level of input from Woodgate due to Carrick’s inexperience , especially since he has started to come under pressure.

Not just on this thread chap!

"He shouldn’t be here in the first place."

Wasnt he alright last season then?

Who`s on your wish list?

Roofie - there is more to this than coaching ability …which is certainly up for debate.

The guy has a record as a violent thug and arguably racist.

That’s the point for some of us whether he is one of our own or not.

He wasn’t alright for me last season. I’ve always wanted a different coach to support and develop Carrick.

I wonder if he would have felt the benefit of such a figure when the wheels started to come off towards the end of last season.

Since then Carrick has shown little sign of knowing what to do about it.

Off course he has been let down by pi$$ poor recruitment but I still can’t help thinking we should be better than we are.

There were a couple of his old MU senior coaches spoken about when he arrived. Are they available?

It’s somebody else’s job to ensure that we have a coaching team which is fit for purpose.

I think we do need someone with a bit of nous to get us organised.
A big part of our culture last season was giving the players freedom to express themselves and not punishing them for their mistakes.
That's great when you have the players good enough, but these lads look like they need the guidance of a good coach and we can't rely on them to go out and just play.
Not sure if Carrick has that ability to force a shape and pattern on the team that we need right now.
