Gone back a hell of a long time to prove a point there. Not that I get your point. OK we are all aware of the expenses scandals across the house but comparing Jacqui Smith charging two hotel films to her expenses claim hardly compared with Johnson’s ever growing charge sheet.

Yeah glad they’ve been prosecuted and none of them should be anywhere near a ministerial position, never mind Prime Ministerial office, any politician who is dishonest and corrupt should be reprimanded for behaviour of that type, so despite the whataboutery we’re left with a Prime Minister who has lost more than one job through dishonesty, who continues to tell lies, who is opaque with the receipt of his ‘donations’, has superinjunctions to stop other stories being in the public domain, gave his lover grants she wasn’t entitled to as Mayor Of London, offered to help a friend commit a crime, and is in the process of being investigated for taking another ‘non declared’ gift.....I mean come on as a country do we not deserve better from the Prime Minister regardless of the colour of his rosette ?

Absolutely. Why hasn't he been charged or whatever the consequences of crime in public office are?

I added that stuff for balance. I have a dislike for all those corrupt in public office and have no allegiance to any of em. There are those on here who only see what they want to see. and exploit other tactics to discredit things that don't suit their ideology. But they show themselves for what they are on a regular basis.

Well if he’s broken Parliamentary Law he ultimately decides if he’s guilty, it’s a farce and really needs review, so he could be found guilty and then decide to take no further action.

I understand that but there’s no need for balance as nobody is saying that any political party isn’t without corruption or self interest, I think the point is that Johnson’s behaviour is unacceptable but many of his supporters aren’t calling him out on it, you’ll hear as many on here who are left leaning being critical of Starmer and Corbyn previously but it seems that Conservative supporters don’t offer the same criticisms of Johnson.

Thanks, I try to be because without at least trying to understand the other viewpoint you’re always going to reach impasse, I’m genuinely surprised at the amount of support Johnson received in situations which to me seem indefensible. I think we as a country deserve better and I think Conservative voters deserve better, we are all being let down by the actions of the man in charge and his inability to behave with Prime Ministerial proprietary.

And we are by far the biggest enabler of global tax avoidance with around one third of the total global amount going through the UK and it's territories.
