Some people in the Conservative Party really don't like Johnson, do they?
This is not coming from the official opposition.
I just wish I knew what is motivating these Tories. If it is a faction appalled at the damage Johnson has done to the standards and conventions of politics and specifically the Conservative Party, then great. If it was the more moderate One Nation Tories who have felt driven out, marginalised or homeless over the last four years, then great. There is a Churchill project, similar to the Republican's Lincoln Project which is trying to reclaim the Party from the grip of the Trump/Tea Party wing, it would be good for the country if it can prevail.
If it is the CRG (Coronavirus Rsearch Group) element, which is pretty much the ERG people then I'm wary. These are the arrogant, stupid, nasty wing of the Party and may just be doing it because they don't like the (late but necessary) restrictions imposed on them during the pandemic.
If it is MP's who simply don't like the way they are unable to influence a PM who put first of all Cummings in prime place of influence, now it is Symonds who has more influence and ultimately Johnson is a populist so will be driven by what makes him popular with the public rather. They don't like not being able to call the general tune.
During the pandemic, a lot of public money has been handed out. This state intervention is socialism and goes against fundamental Conservative principles. These idiots won't care that this was the only practical solution, that the private sector is not fit to deal with something like this, they view the principle as more important than peoples health, well being and livelihoods.
There has also been a lot of corruption going on, which although many of the Conservative MP's, friends, donors and family members have benefited from, will not sit well with even some CRGers or One Nation Tories.
