We are Jam, there is 2 tests right there in the video. There must be different testing kits available, though my son did have his test(s) done in hospital, which may have been the difference. Also he said they shoved the swab right up his nose, I mean right up.
 
yes its not pleasant, and we explain on the doorstep how to do it, but i doubt more than half do it correctly, not their fault as its not that clear .
 
How's that video two tests when they are using same swab twice for throat and nose. Does this mean actual testing figures are half of what's being reported.
 
yep, it counts as two because they say its a nose test and a throat test.
as i said the ones we do are reliant on the recipient doing it properly

If that’s the case and it’s a positive, does that count as two positive tests? If not surely that’s going to skew the statistics?

it should go in a person tested not number of swabs or anything. One person tested, one test - that way the track of the disease is better balanced.
 
It will surely depend on the pathology team.If they do the test twice it will be two tests. If they do it once it will be one. 1 test per person doesn't make sense either because you could be tested every day.

I don't know what the right answer is. but that is how it's recorded.

As for the government's promises, it's no surprise they choose a number so they can say they've met their target. That is a trick as old time in politics.

I would argue though that capacity is all they have control They can't make people take tests and actually, most people don't need to.

The serology test will be more useful if it is proven that presence of antibodies equals immunity although those tests aren't as accurate as they say anyway.
