John Terry has agreed to become head coach at Al-Shabab FC

What is the punishment in that country for

Assault and affray
P*ssing into a pint glass in a nightclub
Car sex, or nearly car sex
Parking in a disabled bay
Sleeping with a colleagues wife
Racist abuse

Just wondering, like.
Equivalent of a knighthood over there.

The Fifa generation are interested in names, so maybe it's targeted at a different demographic to most of us? Maybe they've also realised that buying the sport by purchasing clubs doesn't give them the control or profile they want?

John Terry is a man who was happy to get substituted during the exact minute of his squad number. Then walk off like some medieval King to applause from the masses. He is also a full kit ******. Imagine photo bombing the team celebrating the Champions League win, in a game you didn’t play in a full kit!

I don't want to stand up for Terry but it was Bridge's ex-girlfriend, not his current wife.

Yep i don't get it either. People are interested in the clubs they follow, and also the fortunes of established big clubs, no matter how many big names go to Saudi i dont see people taking any interest, or certainly not people outside of that region.
From a sportswashing point of view i dont think it works either really. Buying premier league clubs does certainly. Maybe the big plan is to sell the worlds best players to Newcastle, on the cheap...
The demographic they are aiming at will be the new "e-generation" of sports fans. All those that are hooked on FIFA and the online streaming versions will now be picking Saudi teams with these big name players in. I think they already sponsor some of the "pro e teams" and they will grow into this market alongside the more traditional football market. There are millions that tune in every day on "twitch" and other platforms to watch others play...this will spill over into real world merchandise and attendances if these clubs every play closer to their home towns/cities.

The traditional football fan is moving further away from being the focus of "elite teams" imho

Who will be next? Frank Lampard? Wayne Rooney? Gary Neville? Phil Neville?
Chris Wilder?
