Joe lumley

He did alright, no dodgy moments for me. Just very slow in his distribution. But then I can understand that, because my god, the passing across the back left my heart in the mouth on quite a few occasions. A good 1-0 today.

Probably the best we have of what we have, but that isnt exactly saying much.

Decent shot stopper but cant we just have a keeper that can just show some authority in the box, and actually claim the ball instead of weak punches putting the side back under pressure.

Lumley and Daniels are both number 2 keepers, either will be fine at this job but they arent anywhere near good enough for a club looking to go up. Said it for years we need to spend big money on a keeper asap. Randolph showed the difference between a decent and a good keeper at this level, and for us that was 10/15 points each season

did ok , cant see any reason to give him grief .... couple of poor clearances but looked fine at crosses and made a couple of decent saves.... even Randolph had poor kicking

Ok I'll bite...why did he punch that ball when it was easier to catch it?
That was really odd - basic catch especially for someone supposedly proficient in handling a football.

Other than that I thought he was ok. Saved us with the outstretched foot towards the end.

Earlier in the season it looked like there was panic when the GK and defence were passing it around. Lumley didn't look totally decisive at times.

From what I saw yesterday it looks as though there have been drills on handling it between the defence and the keeper, rather than trying to lose the ball ASAP. We played like that a lot under Karanka and it needed a lot of clean sheets to build confidence in the crowd.

Lumley looked a lot more decisive and the main positive for me was that he asserted himself rather than getting stuck between two options.

I’d hope we’re looking fir new one now , I’d take Randolph on loan until the end of the season .
No chance given his salary.

I think Lumley has been decent this season, apart from one bad mistake, but CW had some exceptional keepers at Sheff Utd, so maybe it's a position he sets a high bar in.

Two clean sheets. Party because of Fry back but I don’t think he deserves this post. He is ok. Certainly the best we have. He can play us in to trouble and some of his decisions are dodgy but is that not the case for 80% of the keepers in this league? It will be an area they want to strengthen for sure.

He's been fine since coming back into the team, can imagine Wilder will want his own man but don't let that take away from his previous two performances. Very strange mindset where Boro fans just jump on players' backs whilst settling into a club as opposed to giving them time to succeed.

It will be interesting to see how we go with him under wilder il take any positives righty now and 2 clean sheets a good start . So glad fry is back .
