The story I like best was he was Chuck Berry's side man and got the bullet for being too flashy - not that he couldn't do the job

Watched last night's 2 Hendrix films on BBC2, jawdropping watching him playing guitar but his songwriting's v underrated too along with his distinctive vocals

Incredible track nothing else sounded like that at the time and it's still as fresh today. A brilliant musician and unique sound. If jimi played football like he played guitar he would be maradona.
