Of course I did, just not in the 70's as a child... I didn't even know what sexism or racism was. Did my father in the 70's ? I don't know to be honest. Would I judge him retrospectively for it without context, definitely not.

As a 12 year old I enjoyed Benny Hill immensely. Probably wouldn't be the case now.
Apparently he still has a bit of a cult following in the US(particularly among black males)

It may be the case that Davidson's act was more culturally acceptable in the past. There has never been a period where he was funny, however. I'm not saying this on ethical grounds; he was simply crap.
