It's a running joke on the show that Henry has always fancied her. Carragher was trying to play on that but got it completely wrong. They are quite funny together and Kate gives as much as she gets, if not more. This was definitely just a case of "banter" but very poorly executed.

I swapped a few emails with Kate Abdo about 10 years ago. I work in Languages and saw her on Sky Sports pronouncing various players names perfectly. I did a quick Google and realised she studied languages at Salford Uni and invited her to give a talk to students doing the same degree. She emailed me back within the hour and said she was very happy to be invited but was going to be doing some work abroad and wouldn't be back in Britain for a while. We knocked about a few dates but I ended up leaving that university and kind of forgot about the emails. She was very personable and pleasant on email and was very surprised but pleased I'd go in touch. I imagine most of the lads on campus would have packed the lecture theatre that day had it gone ahead.

I hope you enjoyed my Kate Abdo story (I think she was called Kate Giles back then)
