James Grundy MP

To be fair ST I haven’t said it’s ok to go around doing that. I said I don’t see how it reflects his ability to carry out his role and it happened prior to him going into it. I look at myself as an example and look at what I’ve done and does it have any influence to do my role now

‘I have higher standards’
No - you have different standards.
There is no right/wrong/high/low

Its not about party political bias as I`m not a member of or haven't any affiliation to the Labour Party. If it was a Labour MP I would feel exactly the same

The standards I have were passed onto me by parents, and also the people in MY society, those that schooled me and taught me my trade.
Only my opinion of course, but I think they set up a decent way to live and go on. I've always thought the Groucho Marx Joke funny "Those are my principals and if you dont like them I have others" ..........but thats what it is, a joke.

This sounds like a farce talk that is the Oxford Union debating society puts on a regular basis, it goes that by making things seem vague it legitimises it. I dont hang around with its all shades of grey excuse. Its well over used when people struggle to give a straight answer.

We are now letting any old sort into ruling public life and the decision makers, the BBC and the Tory Govt allowed Jimmy Saville all kinds of leeway and excuses and gave him access to children and then bestowed a knighthood (I dont recognise any honour anyway but yous do).

So if a person in his constituency approached him and said they were being flashed at.. what would you expect him to he say?

However if anything I have learnt something, and had something confirmed that I thought from this thread, but thats what this board is for.

Whilst I understand what you’re saying Cooper it’s up to those that employ you to make that decision on your suitability, 13 years ago you might have done something as a regrettable one off, say posted a tweet of a dubious nature, that might have no bearing on your ability to do your current job but having been made aware of it decide they don’t want that association with an employee inside their organisation.
