Just watching Sky News, and I know it is common knowledge, but what a horrible, privileged MP. Should be nowhere near the cabinet of this country. Acts like he is part of the monarchy
He is one of those who you can’t quite understand how he gets away with it, must appeal to those who think a posh accent equals intelligence and wisdom.Just watching Sky News, and I know it is common knowledge, but what a horrible, privileged MP. Bloody ANTIFA out at the Jubilee service booing him as well, disgusting. He's on BBC now citing a Remainer conspiracy causing Johnson's troubles.
If there is a better advert for not voting Tory I haven’t seen

Try shaking hands with Michael Fallon. If there is a better advert for not voting Tory I haven’t seen it
Time for PR.Rees-Mogg is a caricature of a Tory. It's hard to believe people like him exist. He wouldn't have a chance in a genuine election but a 2 party first past the post situation gives him the opportunity. Super-safe seat that will vote for whatever they choose to stand in the conservative box on the ballot paper. He is everything that is wrong with our election system. He's not the only one of course, there are hundreds of safe seats for all parties and they don't have to be good or accountable for anything.
It's a terrible system to be allowed to make decisions that seriously affect people's lives.

No doubt that you are correct. I'm not sure that PR is the best method if it's just a replacement to elect our MPs. I think it needs splitting into 2 different things. PR should be used for the government we want but the people that represent us locally should be different. I don't even think local representatives should be political. They should just be jobs (and full time jobs). Why does the political ideology matter to local decision making? Like councils who are allocated funds and it is their job to spend it. We don't elect our hospital leaders etc so why do we elect our councils and our MPs for local work? I'd rather someone good and with the appropriate qualifications did the job than some shiny faced political attention-whore. I'd rather have a Tory do a job well than a useless Labour MP but I also don't want to vote for them if that gives them license to make decisions on a national level that I am politically opposed to.I would imagine that if we had PR (I'm not arguing for or against here) that the people at the top of the party lists would be the same people who get given safe seats.
