I love seeìng the old grounds and seeing different rules such as being able to pass back to the keeper and they can pick the ball up.

I don't like talking about hooliganism to be honest, but I was already working overseas at the time and I obviously didn't get to games. Thing is, I don't recall us having a beef with Arsenal fans so wondered where this trouble came from and why it was so vicious and prolonged. And wasn't this the game when a bloke got a dart lodged under his eye?

I think it was a London thing - I seem to remember incidents with Chelsea, Wet Ham and spurs (down there) around this time. I think it was probably just that Hooliganism was rife around that time rather than specific rivalries. I was still at School then but remember it kicking off quite often.

Right. I always remember problems with Chelsea, Millwall, West Ham, etc but never Arsenal and I can't remember anything since. I've never thought of Arsenal being a club with much of a hooligan following. Always wondered about this, considering how intense and vicious the trouble was.

It was just what happened in the 70's.
Big game , biggest away following of the season. The gazette headline read 'cockney invasion' or similar.
Arsenal had quite a hooligan following in the 70's then seemed to quieten down compared to Chelsea, west ham etc.
Back then the Clive road corner was the unofficial presegregation away end and away fans usually got a violent reception.
