2/3 of the 11 players that started tonight would be in our regular starting line-up.

Given Warnock's love of Howson, I'd say that it's more likely to be 2 and Morsy being dropped for Payero.

6 of the players starting tonight are unlikely to even come off the bench in a regular match.

Absolutely nothing to be read in to tonight's result.
 
Fast forward to us getting promoted next May - “I enjoyed that but if only Warnock had played our best team at Blackpool back in August….”

Yep a statement that the timing of the goals scored in in the 77 and 78 min was harsh deserved a fairly vacuous response. I wasn’t there and neither were you it seems and I am not for getting too annoyed at a League Cup exit but a 3-0 defeat when you play very poorly (according to those that were there) is pretty representative of the scoreline no matter how much your statistical bent wants to twist it.
 
Blackpool made 8 changes and won the game easily. Very worrying.
Maddo said , defensively we looked ok ? We got stuffed 3-0 by Blackpool reserves.
We have made 8 signings, 2 keepers , 2 defenders who played, Ameobi who is already injured, Payero , Crooks and Ikpeazu who we are relying on to score more goals than the ones who've have left.
My worry is we have been out played both games, good teams control games, we need a Leadbitter to run the game, who that could be , who knows?Ali McCann at St Johnstone could be the answer IF we could afford him.
Scoring goals remains our main issue, as it was las season, and with 8 signings we have not addressed it.
3 very good forward players are needed, can we afford them ? They need to be goalscorers, and I hope Hoillett and Harris are not in the mix because they do not score goals.
I have put names up , and we are linked with some, these are crucial to our future and I hope we get it right.

I dare say we'll be more competitive and fewer defensive errors in most league games. Most matches well only need to score one for a point minimum. It's Warnocks style and whilst we probably won't compete at the top of the table (don't think anyone suggested we would?) it should be an improvement on last season.

Hey I have no issue with the side we put out tonight but I would not have chosen to blood payero in amongst them.

we through him under the bus tonight.

hope his injury isn’t too bad either

It’s best he gets a feel for the English game though, his next box to tick will be becoming on from the bench in a league game and impressing and then eventually starting. It will take time probably until we see his best but I totally think it was the right decision to play him tonight. Hopefully injury is nothinf

Lets get a grip.

He is an Argentina u23 who should be one of our best players. No need to mother him , good players step up and hopefully he will.
 
I'm more concerned about 1 shot on target in two games. I mean played the reserves to tonight but still created nothing.

To go into a new season with 1 forward is criminal. We also have absolutely no wingers or wing backs. Still very much lacking if that's out 2nd string. 😕
