It's finally got me

I've felt rough since going out on Friday and have just completed a LFT and it's tested positive. As a family, we managed to avoid Covid throughout the heights of the pandemic and have followed all social distancing rules. I have avoided any crowded areas but decided to go to the match on Wednesday and out for a few beers on Friday night. Saturday morning I felt rough but just thought it was the amount I had to drink - I'm certainly not used to it anymore. Over the weekend I developed a sore throat and a cough and complete a test this morning which showed positive.

I have had worse cold symptoms and regularly suffer from a chesty cough at this time of the year through my year's welding.

I have just read up on the rules of Covid and it seems that I have to isolate for five days from taking the test but only if I want to. If I choose to go out I need to take steps from spreading it - how mad is that part.

So it looks like my Easter weekend is going to be spent indoors or pottering in the garden and greenhouse.

Us too mate. Take it easy, I had 4 days in bed - the fatigue is something else. I'm over it now, though still testing positive, but Mrs V is still in the midst of its badness.

I'm pretty sure I have it for a third time (perks of working in a school with 750 people lol 🙄) but am testing negative on LFTs. As said above, it's the fatigue (and the headache) that give it away....as NC says, feels like a hangover to begin with. It's Spring Break here so I'm off work too, was due to go in to do some interviews and meetings this week but have switched them to Zoom just in case.

Have a chilled Easter weekend, hope you're feeling better soon NC!

"regularly suffer from a chesty cough at this time of the year through my year's welding."

Thanks for the kind words and advice guys.

Come on fozzy, give a hint regarding who you are, you will have my head working overtime. 🤣

Exactly the same as me, thought it was just feeling rough from the night before, woke with a sore throat, only tested myself as I was going to my mams for mothers day and one of our vet nurses had tested positive on the Friday. Was surprised it came back positive. Only felt like I had a bad cold....was back negative by day 6.

However 9 days on and I'm on a nasal spray and 2 lots of tablets. I've always had bad sinuses and suffered after colds in the past but this bout of covid has screwed them right over, worst headache ever, vomiting etc, thankfully doctors diagnosed me over the phone instead of dragging me in as I wouldn't have been able to get there in the state I'm in today. Covid was a breeze, it's the aftermath that's knocking hell out of me 😭😭😭😭

I feel really, really rough at the moment but I’ve tested negative the last couple of days.

Managed to avoid it so far, my wife has a mum in her 90’s so desperate not to pass it on (whatever it is). Typically I’ve booked a couple of days off for an extended Easter break and might have to spend it indoors.

I tested positive yesterday after over a week in the USA . Had a feeling I might be and tested several times but no way was I going to test the day or so before flying back and be stuck in a hotel on my own in the USA for 10’days and the hassle of sorting flights hotel etc . Mine is sore throat, cough that sounds like a squeaky toy , headache , hot and cold , rattly chest etc . First timer also so had hoped to avoid it

Give you chance to get the Subbuteo out complete with stands, floodlights and ref.

I woke up the day after the Hull game feeling lousy and like I had a hangover, which ( as I'd only had a couple of drinks) I initially put down to been depressed about the performance and result. It didn't go away and I took a lateral flow test later on which proved positive. Just feeling really tired most the time.
