Is The Queen is Dead the best Smiths album?

If not which, and compilations don’t qualify.

Edited: Removing any specific reference to Hatful of Hollow

Suffer Little Children wouldn’t be a track today, but it had my peers and I thinking. Education is the thing that we seem to have lost.

For me it’s pretty much a dead heat between the first 3 albums jointly.

Sorry to fans of Strangeways.

And I agree Hatful doesn’t count.

The Queen Is Dead for me, definitely. But I'm afraid I stopped listening ever since the singer decided to take a dump all over the band's legacy.

Okay, QID for me, BUT ONLY cos HoH is not allowed for some strange, bizarre reason...
It’s a compilation of mostly live tracks and miscellaneous tracks! It’s not a studio album.

World Won’t Listen and Louder Than Bombs also not allowed for obvious reasons.

I stopped listening to MJ in 2019 but Wanna Be Startin’ Something came on the radio recently and I didn’t turn it off (I grew up a super-fan).

Do you eventually just have to accept music despite the artist? I’ve never cancelled the Smiths/Morrissey personally.

It's definitely a grey area/personal choice thing. MJ I never had any interest in but all artists are flawed and you can't boycott everyone with a character fault. But for me the Smiths singer represents pure racism and I just can't stomach that.
