In the overwhelming majority of cases once things are going badly the manager is sacked.
It was widely reported and has been confirmed by players who were present no?Karanka never walked out, why do people peddle this that dont know what actually happened, Gibson sent him back to Spain For that weekend, it was not Karankas decision.
Jonathan Woodgate and Stewart Downing tell a different story.Karanka never walked out, why do people peddle this that dont know what actually happened, Gibson sent him back to Spain For that weekend, it was not Karankas decision.
Incorrectly reported from hearsay and guesswork by fans. No players or staff present have said anything of the sort.It was widely reported and has been confirmed by players who were present no?
Downing has an agenda, not sure about Woody. I was told by a member of staff who is still at the club Gibson sent him home after a heated argument with Danny Ayala over his pretend injuries, Karanka Called him out on it after his son had played on in a youth game with a serious injury a few days before. Leadbitter stuck up for Ayala which made it worse, Karanka offered to resign over it and Gibbo sent him home for the weekend to cool down and get his head together.Jonathan Woodgate and Stewart Downing tell a different story.
And they would wouldn't they given they were the root cause of the issues behind the scenes at the time.Jonathan Woodgate and Stewart Downing tell a different story.

or could it be the burnley consortium was a better prospect financially for himTo answer this question we need to understand the root of the problems. We've seen enough managers come and go now to know it is not just the manager - something else causes problems behind the scenes, be it recruitment, chairman meddling, club culture, we don't know. But we've had several experienced manages now and they have all struggled. Questions need to be asked why.
I think Wilder is an alright manager, but despite people making 20 threads about it, we aren't privy to what went on and why it went on. Did wilder court Burnley? Seems like it from comments but we don't know. But we also don't know why - was he sick of having players put on him? Did someone else have too much power? We don't know.
Think we will be here again in 6 months slating the next bloke on our way to become Watford
Exactly how it happened.Downing has an agenda, not sure about Woody. I was told by a member of staff who is still at the club Gibson sent him home after a heated argument with Danny Ayala over his pretend injuries, Karanka Called him out on it after his son had played on in a youth game with a serious injury a few days before. Leadbitter stuck up for Ayala which made it worse, Karanka offered to resign over it and Gibbo sent him home for the weekend to cool down and get his head together.
There’s a few other details but it’s not that relevant.
So if they wanted him and he wanted them( how come he isn't there?or could it be the burnley consortium was a better prospect financially for him
It is the easiest option. I would say in almost every case.In the overwhelming majority of cases once things are going badly the manager is sacked.
He was "verbally awkward" and I think that is probably why some couldn't warm to him.In the interview wilder have he used a term I found odd at the time I’m contractually obliged to this club
Exactly this. He seemed unwilling to just be honest and always seemed to want to protect his position, even just on principle. I think this is clearly because there were issues between him and others behind the scenes, and in the end, getting sacked (and paid off) was probably what he wanted. I just hope our next appointment is someone who buys into whatever structure we now have, or we're going to have a new manager every October until we're mid-table in League One.He was "verbally awkward" and I think that is probably why some couldn't warm to him.
There's absolutely no doubt in my mind his big initial error was to not come out at the time of the Burnley furore and say simply when asked originally ( he evaded the question) "Look I am the manager of Middlesbrough FC and my only focus is on winning the game on Saturday and ultimately securing a play off berth" He delayed that response longer than necessary.
It would have put everything to bed straight away, The evasive behaviour meant those discussions in the press and in Social med kept going for longer than they should have. Burnley have since said they were never interested in Wilder and certainly never spoke to him. Their target was always Kompany.
