Is Bradley Walsh a national treasure?

Not bad when he was on Corra, but average comedian really isn't he.

Better than Lee Mack though. Now there's a bloke I associate with spine and shivers.
 
Have a friend who's worked on the chase. Apparently a genuinely nice guy who is pretty much exactly the same person off camera that he comes across as on (obviously not all celebs are). If he finds out you're into football he won't shut up.
 
I do like Bradley Walsh, thought he was very funny on the football quiz show he used to do with Lampard and Romesh Ranganathan.

Thought he came across as a bit of a rotter on the Ant and Dec gotcha though. That show only usually gives out a few thousand to winners. One time they seemingly have a contestant on doing unexpectedly well and he's backstage telling off the crew. I suppose he was proven right to be suspicious, but it just made me question if his on screen persona is all just an act.
 
I'm a fan of Bradley Walsh, he seems like a really likeable guy, The Chase would be rubbish without him, but I'd say he's not done anywhere near enough to be classed as a national treasure.

I thought the same. On screen he always tries to come across as being on the side of the contestants'. He gives it all this '1-0 to me' when a contestant goes through to the final chase but then he could be heard asking the crew 'is she scamming us' backstage. Fair enough he was right, it was all a prank but it does make you question whether he does genuinely like to see contestants' win.
 
I don’t like the term ‘National Treasure’.

Not since ‘DAME’ Babs Windsor was on a breakfast show a few years ago, and actually said this HERSELF !

“Some people have described me as a national treasure but I don’t think I am yet !......YET !

I was nearly sick.

Her claim to fame is a few Carry On films, an affair with Sid James, a marriage to a known convicted criminal and being a barmaid.

She got a Damehood ffs.

National treasure’s nah !.

If you are going to have National Treasure’s they should be Surgeons, Doctors and Nurses, not egotistical, self publicising show business people.

McCartney
Judi Dench

Other than that, yeah as has already been said, all our lists should really be full of unsung people who do extraordinary things day in, day out to help improve the lives of others.
 
The fact that McCartney has decided to live a large part of his life now in the USA for me disqualifies him from that elite list of people. Don’t get me wrong he is a British icon but our treasures have to remain on British soil. I guess that goes for Connolly too.
 
I like Bradley Walsh. He definitely makes The Chase a better program,

Not sure I'd class him as a national treasure, but he's certainly a good presenter and one of the better people on TV.

The fact that he's still inflicting his post-Beatles tripe on the nation disqualifies him for me.
