It's probably likely that the VAR team will look at every goal even if it isn't shown as being done, then you are going to have discrepancies of how far they go back in the play. The world cup is usually full of talking points I have a feeling this will probably be more than ever not just about Qatar but about on the pitch action.

on the VAR 'offside' graphic, why are fifa only showing 2 players? It normally shows positions the moment the free kick is kicked

I don’t get the graphic — where’s the transparency in that? I hope this isn’t going to be how VAR will be orchestrated for future domestic and international games.

BBC finally showed a zoomed in slo-mo Keeper punches it on to the attackers head so by the letter of the law var is right, why didn’t they show that at the time it would have been a hell of a lot clearer.

I was just saying that.

In the VAR booth:
"Hey Abdul, just superimpose the stickman with the thick knees - see? Offside! "

I would like it explaining to me. I don't understand it, but the guy who goes up with the keeper isn't off when the ball was kicked. If the keeper touches it on to him - I don't understand how that makes him off. No doubt i'm behind with the latest rules.

As the keeper touches it on to the attacker the offside line is drawn from when the ball makes contact with the first Ecuadorean player just after the keeper touches it and at that point his team mate who touches it nexts knee is a fraction offside.

I'll have to see it again, because I thought it was the knee of the guy who went up with keeper that was shown. And that it must have been him who the keeper played the ball on to.

No, it wasn’t clear at first but the knee is of his teammate behind him

Was the same at 0-0 to be fair. Only a small bunch of paid fans trying to make any noise.
They're as embarrassing as the Qataris who were dressed up pretending to be England fans.

Wonder how long it will take for the fake England fans to start fighting with the real England fans.
