Investors pull out of Everton talks

MSP Sports Capital were trying to negotiate around a 25% stake in Everton, which would have released some transfer funds - but by all accounts they have pulled out of talks!

Really is going from bad to worse for Everton, and after watching them against Villa at the weekend if ever a squad needed a shake up it was them!

All signs pointing to another relegation fight - what a sorry few years they have had!

They are now like Villa a few years ago and I honestly think a relegation and a rebuild will be good for them too. Or maybe they will do a Portsmouth instead...

I'd say both were bigger than Everton are now
I think you're forgetting how rubbish City were in the late 90s. They certainly didn't have the financial clout Everton have had in recent years, or the global brand Everton have.

Isn't Everton's problem that they don't have financial clout?

They seem to be sniffing around looking for funding to sign players and finish the stadium.

They may well get bought out with all debts cleared and be fine but there must be a chance that they get relegated and then implode in a portsmouth style?

Yes. It's utterly meaningless. What on earth does 'too big' mean?
OK Capy, we know you hate Everton and want them to go out of business. But in my opinion, if they go down, they will bounce back fairly quickly like Villa and Newcastle did, and unlike City, Leeds, Forest who took longer. You may disagree, that's fine. Not sure 'meaningless' is the correct term, however. Everton are an incredibly well-resourced club in the scheme of things, they would likely be bought out and taken over again before they go bankrupt.
