Interest in club

Rock and a hard place.
If someone decided they wanted to buy a share in the club - they would obviously have the right to be on the Board?
[Anyone know who comprises the current "Board"?]
Its a question of whether Steve Gibson is prepared to relinquish overall control of the club - which after all these years [understandably] would be a difficult decision to make?

Don't really think there is a board as such. It's a very small number of decision makers.

There's no way Gibson will sell anytime soon. Obviously he cant go on for ever but I've always understood the general consensus was that he would pass it down to his daughter. I dont know if she has any holdings in the Gibson O'Neil business but the debt write off each year will have to be funded from somewhere. I doubt very much that her production company would be in a position financially to do this though.
My brother in law is very good friends with her. God help us if she ever took over. There are a few phrases that spring to mind involving breweries and nunneries.

Gibson should sell up - we have been very much under achieving for a long long time now, in fact since we got to the final in Eindhoven it's been pretty much down hill ever since, with one disastrous decision after another. Every dog has its day as they say, and Gibsons' was that golden period from 1994 - 2006. Let someone else have a go now - the club is after all supposed to be for the benefit of the community and fans, not Steve Gibsons ego.

Regarding new ownership, or at least the bad ones, most of the time the clubs are struggling financially and the owners are desperate for an out. Anything will do. So the number of shysters waiting in the wings.......queue around the block.

We shouldn't have this, no quick sale needed, as much time as we want to get the right owner in. In theory.

Yes, could all go t*ts up, but we are not taking the first offer that lands on Gibson's desk. All hypothetical of course as I just cannot see Gibson selling up.

Just hope if he does continue, things don't sour and his first 20 and a bit years involved with the club aren't tarnished.

Sounds good to me. Danish people are generally cool: liberal, educated, level-headed. They have been watching English football since the 70s and most speak near-perfect English. Asos - great brand - bought some jekylls on there tonight!

As long as it's not some sportswashing operation, I'm calm. Gibbo gave us great memories but he's been carrying us all alone for years. He could probably do with a slightly richer person to take some of the strain.
