Injured by moving

Yes I have aches and pains but my God I have become clumsy this year, my 65th. Yesterday I kicked a table with a can of coke on it and sent it flying, this morning I knocked a jar of olives out of the fridge onto the kitchen floor smashing all over the place and then this afty I tripped up the stairs at the Town Hall. I’m a flaming disaster area.

I’m still completely crocked. Seeing a specialist on Thursday, but have gone from running 3 miles, 5 times a week, to not knowing how my knee will react to standing up.
I’m 56 and it’s come from nowhere. 2 months now. I really miss running - my headspace needs the outdoors…

It’s because we should be dead. We aren’t designed to live as long as we do now. It’s your body’s way of reminding you that you simply shouldn’t be here.
Yes, bring back the days of living until you’re 35 or if you’re lucky, being seen off by the Black Death. 🤣

Not me personally but a mate cancelled a night out after the previous night needing the loo - misjudged where he was in the bed and swung out only to smash his foot against a wardrobe and end up in A&E at 04:00, small bone fracture in lower foot and serious bruising to ankle.

I feel this post. I sprained my right wrist 2 weeks ago when my car hit a small pothole while gripping the steering wheel.
That was probably your own fault to be fair. Why was the car gripping the steering wheel? You should have been doing that yourself. Don't go blaming the car.

Does anyone else on here regularly injure themselves simply by moving?

A few weeks ago i injured my neck simply by getting into my car, last week I almost dislocated my shoulder simply by by trying to get the duvet out from underneath myself, the sharp pain was excruciating, and this morning I’ve just knackered my back (gone into spasm I think) simply by getting out of bed and now I’m struggling to move about.

Is it just me? Am I just getting old? (51). Wtf is happening to me?
52 here and I am the same my body was never a temple, but I spend more time at the doctor's in the last 24 months than I did the other 50. Shoulder still screwed after my bike decided to crash in the dark wet Albert Park several months ago. I walk with a limp as I've also buggered my right heel, not a clue how. I did my back in picking up a screw from the floor, I was laid there for hours as I was home alone. The 90 year old bloke over the road has less problems than me 🥺😁

I strained my neck sneezing a few weeks ago. Could barely turn my head for about a week. Couldn't train for a fortnight.

I'm not even 40 yet. I feel sorry for you old buggers

I’ve heard that for a bloke the decade of 50-59 is termed ‘snipers alley’, it’s when you are most likely to fck up/ fall apart/ contract illness / die, but if you survive it you are are golden…..how true that is I don’t know, but I do know that since turning 50 I can’t do m h of a thing without something breaking/falling off. It’s a bit rubbish really.
