India v England 5th Test

The 5th Test starts on Thursday, with Bairstow winning his 100th cap. It's a dead rubber as such, as India have won the series and are 3 - 1 up, so England playing for pride.

India are almost unstoppable, when playing on home soil, but maybe our top order batsmen can put a score together and give us a platform to sculpture a win.

Not a dead rubber.

A 3-2 defeat would be the best performance by any away side since England won there over a decade ago. All contributes to the Test Championship too.

I would like to see a bit more game management and better situational awareness in games.

I am on board with many aspects of Bazball, but am sick of people throwing their wickets away trying a half ar5ed reverse sweep on their first ball when the game is in the balance.

I'm quite interested in what happens to the 3 young spinners Hartley, Bashir and Ahmed, after this series. Certainly 2 of them have come from relative obscurity, but with question marks over their future in the county game, let alone the national game. It would be a shame if that is it for them. When Leach gets fit, then do any of them have a future for England apart from next time England tour in the sub-continent and need a raft of spinners?

Top tour from Crawley against best home bowling in the world with a hard ball.
Repaid thr faith Stokes has in him.

As usual, Bairstow there for a good time, not a long time and burns a review in the process - pretty much his series in a nutshell that.

He’s been a great servant but this should be his last Test for England. It won’t be as he’s in the inner clique of that dressing room.

utterly predicatble batting collapse to nothign other than slightly spinning balls, there is absolutely no stickability whatsoever in that england middle order

Again from a strong position england have just tossed the game away with a laughably inept 1 hour of play, 5 wicketsfor 8 runs is absolute schoolboy stuff

They really need to realise the crucial passages of play.
100 for 1, very nearly lunch and Pope dances down the wicket, totally pre-meditated and pretty idiotic.
Then constantly not getting to the pitch of the ball v spinners, simply asking for trouble.
Should have gone into this Test 2-2 at worst, but look like losng it 4-1.

Bazball is a breath of fresh air, but the game lasts 5 days, we need to recognise when to stick in and milk it, instead of having too many game losing sessions
