In America do they still use the Wells Fargo stage coach for mail?

Relatives in the States posted a Xmas card to us on the 28th November (as per postmark) - arrived yesterday

(I am happy to accept some of the delay may have been with Correos who are dire)

I always knew that this article could take in the region of 6 weeks, but to spend 10 days in Chicago is unbelievable.

Our postal service gets bad press, but that is ridiculous.
 
We have relatives in Canada and can attest that both their and the US Postal service is dire. Our parcels get there a lot quicker than theirs reach us, except if they end up in some arseend place in the US in which case they could sit around for days.
I'm not sure how international post works, but the journeys that some of our packages have been on would suggest that the carriers simply put them on any flight that has space and is in the general direction of east or west.

Yeah, that distribution centre is at O'Hare. It's taken someone over a week to move it from one building at the airport to another :/
 
My package arrived today and there was nothing extra to pay on it. I was expecting to pay some kind of import duty.

I can get in my shed and make segmented bowls to my hearts delight during the half term.

I'll post a picture of my finished creation.
