What absolute nonsense. To reduce people to where they have graduated from is ridiculous. To suggest that having a knighthood means they are out of touch is also ridiculous.

One of the people you are talking about is from a traditional working class background and has everything they have from being exceptionally good at what they do.

One of the people you are talking about lost both parents before the age of 16 and neither parent was of the landed gentry.

The last of the 3 has so little in common with the first two as to make your post utterly ridiculous.

It’s a valid point and you shouldn’t be so quick to dismiss it. Far too many hedge fund managers and solicitors in the House of Commons. Do you know what percentage of MPs are from Oxford? How many are not from Oxford or Cambridge or from public schools? These are supposed to be our representatives. How many have not only been to the same University, but have been part of the same club in the year? Very concerning. How many are the 5th or 6th cousin of the Queen? How many have been involved in ‘disappearing‘ or losing evidence relating to a high profile peadophile ring..

Jeremy Hunt and David Cameron are 4th or 5th cousins to the queen.
Im not sure how many have lost evidence of a peadophile ring, but don't worry Donald trump's on the case. There were certainly people who covered up for Cyril Smith, but sadly prior to this decade that was just common practice, from the Vatican to a bunch of football league clubs.

If we consider that we want our representatives to be the best and brightest of us then attending a top university is hardly a bad thing.

I’m not sure what being related distantly to the Queen has to do with anything. All of them are directly elected.

Covering up any crime is disgrace let alone child abuse but to accuse someone of doing so without evidence is also a disgrace.

You consider the MPs in our current parliament represent the the best and brightest of us? David Cameron was involved in the takeover of Carlton television then disappeared’ the kengate tapes and the cook report related to the investigation. Theresa May lost the dickens dossier whilst home secretly. Cameron, Clegg and Boris were all in the same club at uni. Too close for comfort and made worse by the legislation they have past that’s caused so much damage to the lives of the most vulnerable in our society.

It was a general statement regarding parliamentarians not being representative of the population and in some cases not being fit for office. You can read, I don’t need to spoon feed you explanation after explanation.

Not too sure why our politicians shouldn't come thru the best education in this country (possibly the world) but there you go, some people always want to aim for the lowest common denominator.
