Improved offer for Goode made

Northern Echo reporting that Norwich are after Gibson.

I think we'd only sign Gibson if we managed to get some money in, and the only really saleable asset who could pull £6-8m in is Assombalonga. Unless we cash in on someone like Spence or do a swap with Fry.

I think Goode would be a good signing, low risk and could go on to be a top defender.

I don't think we should go back to Gibson, he hasn't played in two years - he thought he could do better than Middlesbrough and wanted to be the big England defender

No, let's move on

We sold him for a good fee so we could comply with FFP. The fact he is dying to come back tells us all he doesn’t think he’s bigger than Boro at all. It’s asif he never really wanted to leave. But you keep telling yourself that, sounds like you have made yourself believe your own BS

I think Fletcher would also easily pull in as much. Not that we should sell him.

I doubt he will be anywhere near as good as Gibson. That said probably costs a fraction in terms of wages and fee.

I would love Ben back but preferably on loan. You have to question how he will stand up after basically having 18 months off.

I have to say 500k-750k doesn't overly seem to much of a gamble. I've never seen him play so have no real input. He sounds like a proper 'old school' defending defender (that's how Keith Curle describes him). That probably ticks the Warnock box👍

If Warnock goes with his preferred 433 and If we sign Moore, then I’d expect Assombalonga to go, both can only really play that central striker role, Brits too expensive to be sat on the bench. At least with Fletcher you can use him wide or as a second striker if we’re chasing a game.

why would we look to sell two very decent Championship strikers for - comparative peanuts - even in this financially challenging time.... when we'd have to spend pretty much the same money to get probably unproven strikers in....

Fletcher, esp, for me has a big future & I think next season could be his best... Britt I have no real issues with & he's a proven striker at this level & in his prime... no need to take a big loss on him, if we're even looking to sell at all..

If he had demanded a transfer once we were relegated you would have a point, but I'm not sure your view stacks up with the reality of him playing another season in championship with us under Monk/Pulis

Fletcher and Britt are out of contract next July. So basically we could very easily have 22mil worth of forwards leave for nothing. Top business🙄

So I imagine they are very much like Randolph. We will except lower than they are worth rather than lose for nothing (also frees up a year's worth of high wages).

We will never be able to match eithers current wage. So they won't be signing a new deal.

I would like to hangon to Fletcher. I'm sure Britt will have plenty of suiters but would expect much more than 4-5mil with a year left. Shocking business model..... Just another reason we are skint🙁

We would sell them to get some money so that Warnock could get some players he wants, but I'm not saying we should, or that we will. I do think both played well under Warnock for the last 8 or so games, and Britt actually had a couple of decent games playing on the left. I'd fully expect at least 30 goals between them under Warnock.

Will be interesting to see if we go back in for Roberts. I noticed that Jack Harrison has re-joined Leeds on loan, so Man City aren't against doing business now.

I believe that once he got into the real world away from the safety of uncle Steve... he failed miserably - that can't be denied.... if he anything running back here to uncle Steve makes it even worse

Oh so now you have changed your reasoning completely. What have you got against Gibson? If it’s feasible financially without skinting us it’s an excellent signing.
