Boro have asked me to share this...

MFC is issuing the following guidance ahead of the implementation of the government’s ‘Plan B’ protocols which are set to come into force at Saturday’s match against AFC Bournemouth (kick-off 12.30pm).

As of Wednesday 15 December, and subject to parliamentary approval, all events hosting more than 10,000 people will require attendees over the age of 18 to provide evidence of COVID-19 certification, in the form of an NHS COVID Pass or proof of a negative lateral flow test result.

With a Season Card figure totalling comfortably in excess of 10,000, this means that Boro’s home league fixtures will be subject to these new regulations until further notice, starting with our home match against AFC Bournemouth on Saturday 18 December (kick-off 12.30pm).

Please Be Prepared

We’re urging all fans aged 18 and over who are planning to attend Saturday’s game to be best prepared to ensure a smooth process come matchday.

Proof Of Vaccination

Supporters are required to have received both doses of the vaccine at least 14 days before the match in order to be eligible. You do not need to have received a booster jab at this time.

The easiest way to provide proof of vaccination is by using the NHS COVID Pass on your mobile phone, accessed via the NHS App which can be downloaded on Apple Store or Google Play .

We are strongly advising fans to save the COVID pass to your digital wallet, download a PDF copy to your phone or print a hard copy before you head to the game due to the high volume of fans that will be trying to access the NHS app on matchdays.

All supporters will also require ID to match the name on their COVID pass. This can be your Season Card or match ticket.

If you have received a vaccination in a foreign country, you can check the approval status here.

If you do not have access to a mobile device, you can also request a printed version from the NHS. The small card distributed on receiving the vaccine will not be accepted.

Lateral Flow Testing

A negative lateral flow test result will be permissible should you be unable to provide a COVID pass.

The lateral flow test must be taken within up to 48 hours of kick-off, with the ideal time 12 hours before entry.

Results must be submitted via the NHS , and the text message or email confirmation received in return must be presented on entry to the stadium as evidence of the negative lateral flow test. The physical test itself will not be accepted.

If the test returns a positive result, then you must NOT attend the fixture and follow the correct procedures as advised by the NHS.

Medical Exemption

There are a small number of exemptions for individuals who have a medical reason which means they should not be vaccinated, and in some cases should not test either.

In this instance, you can use the NHS COVID Pass as a vaccinated person would. Your NHS COVID Pass will not show that you have a medical exemption.

Face Coverings

Supporters over the age of 11 are now required to wear face coverings in indoor settings at the Riverside, including the stadium concourse and hospitality areas, unless medically exempt.

Matchday At The Riverside

BE PREPARED

Please be ready to show your COVID pass/test results and identification on arrival at the Riverside Stadium. Stewarding staff will be on hand to assist and direct supporters with entry to the stadium.

BE EARLY

We are advising supporters to please arrive early, particularly in the first few matchdays with new regulations, in order to allow for extra time which may be required to enter the stadium. For Saturday’s match against AFC Bournemouth, turnstiles will be open from 11am.

BE SAFE

Please do not attend the match if you or a member of your party display any COVID-19 symptoms and/or are required to self-isolate.

Thank you for your patience and support in the implementation of new guidelines.

Just to add, if you’ve travelled abroad recently you can’t use the Covid pass you downloaded for that trip, it needs to be the different Domestic one.

Also they expire every month and need re-downloading.

However when registering unless you go through the full ID procedure on line (which at a cursory glance only appears to be necessary for travel) then your Domestic pass will only be valid for 48 hours.

Not sure I’ve gone through the whole ID procedure and set up the nhs app because I travel a fair bit. I downloaded the Domestic one tonight and it’s valid until the 13th Jan.

Yeah, the pass lasts a month.

It's been a rolling 1 month every time I've checked it this year.

I accessed the NHS Covid Pass on the PC. It was a very simple procedure but only offered the domestic pass which expired in 48 hours. I rang 119 and a very helpful lad eventually deduced I needed to go through the full ID procedure (which as I say only appears necessary if you're travelling). I had to take a photo of my driving licence and upload it then do a scan of face (surprisingly the laptop didn't burst into flames at this point :giggle:). Within 2 hours I had an email saying I was an ugly b***r my ID had been confirmed. On signing in I was now offered both domestic and travel passes and the domestic pass was now valid for 30 days.(y)

Edit: Whilst I was on I ordered a letter which has no expiry date just to be on the safe side. Takes 5 days to come though.

Thanks for that Rob.

A bit of a faff, but these things aren‘t going anywhere fast, so probably worth the effort.

I used the Covid Pass in France and had to show it at every bar, cafe, restaurant and shopping mall we attended. Everyone was prepared to show them and things flowed smoothly.

Due to being away for 6 weeks, our pass did expire and we didn't realise until we went to enter a restaurant. We moved to one side, downloaded a new one in seconds and were shown to our table.

Nothing at all to it. Problems will occur if people want problems to occur and aren't properly prepared.

Had to show one at Leeds arena Friday night for madness (venues policy not a government one). Harmless enough but I think there were only 7000 there and a much more staggered arrival. I guess most people get to the ground 10 to 15 mins before kick off so can see it being carnage.

Well done the DoH/NHS, MFC and Rob/FMTTM for diffusing this invaluable info.

I've just created a login and downloaded my pass for the next 48 hours (I haven't verified my ID yet). I don't need a pass yet, but wanted to do a dry run just in case.

Only took me 5 mins as I had my NHS number in front of me.

An added bonus is; I can order repeat prescriptions on the app and won't need to join a phone queue for the next 3 days at the inundated Banbury Cross Health Centre.

I've ordered the paper one, but no way it will arrive by Saturday
I've got driving licence and proof on the NHS app, so hoping that will do - as I'm working all week and have no printer

TC.

you can get one sent to an email address but be aware that if you haven't verified your ID on the app then it appears you will have to generate a new pass within 48 hours before you need to use it.

EDIT: Just seen asredastheycome's post above. Apparently the 2 day shelf life gets updated every time you log in again

On me app and a hard copy just make sure. I suspect the attendance will take a big hit. All the faff and on Sky, may get 18k if we are lucky.

Had to show our passes and wear a mask in every shop in Cyprus and no body complained.

How are you supposed to wear a mask in the concourse whilst having a pint?
The simple answer is you won’t, same as on a plane, when you get on the say wear a mask, as soon as the drinks trolley comes round that’s masks done until you prepare to land. It’ll be the same in the concourse.
