Impartial BBC?

I assume you want the royal family doing away with then?
To be honest harry I'm indifferent to them. If I look into them I'm probably sure I'd want away with them yes, I know about Andrew and the protection he gets is astounding, as I said I'm always open to be educated. The queen technically is my boss though 🤣

The government are prone to scandals, and not just the current one. Far, far more than the BBC. So let's get rid of all government too, not just the current lot. I assume, despite working for the Queen, you're an anarchist?

There's plenty of institutions out there, if you are talking about the current government then they are probably the worst of the lot. No need to take the mick mate.
I wasn't taking the mick - your response to an organisation that in your eyes is guilty of wasting tax payers money (amongst other things) is to privatise it.

So my question was what would you do about the Govt who are more corrupt, wasteful and lots of other adjectives or as CtC suggested the NHS or as HV said the Royal Family?

Perhaps the answer isn't just about getting rid & letting someone else take it over and make a profit on it whilst being equally corrupt but with reform?

I agree the BBC is not perfect, has made mistakes, could be improved in many ways but the answer is to put it right not throw it out with the bath water.

I used to agree with this but when you look at it as a breakdown it’s actually quite expensive.

The basic sky package less sports and movies is about £23 a month… that gets you a couple of hundred channels and access to radio stations plus the box sets usually.

bbc is £14 a month for three channels (plus bbc3) if you can count that… and a few radio stations… local radio used to be good and local… but has become more and more regionalised and nationalised in recent years.
Part of the reason for that is because it’s in competition with the BBC. Imagine if it wasn’t. You’ll be paying a lot more than £23 per month.

@Boro1876 What are your thoughts on the NHS? If they've made a **** up should it be binned and make way for privatised health care?
Weegord I think they are totally different things and the NHS are amazing and would never want to see them privatised. I have my views on the BBC and I don't think they will change.

My father died last February as a result of negligence within the NHS and sadly have the inquest to attend this coming Thursday.

He was badly let down by the NHS to the point that he paid with his life and that’s something that really hurts. However, despite what happened to him (which IMHO was scandalous) I love the NHS and everything it represents. There needs to be issues resolved within it but the institution itself is a jewel in the crown of the UK.

I look at the BBC in the same way, there are problems within it and we can’t ignore them - however, it is still a fantastic institution IMHO and should be preserved for the huge positives it brings.

I'm very sorry for your loss, that is awful and it should never happen but unfortunately it does. I respect your opinion on both, as I said I'm very much open to persuasion but I do feel the BBC has crossed the line quite a lot.

If it’s broken fix it, but to get rid of it is to say that it can’t be fixed. The only people who would ever believe that are the people who think publicly-funded broadcasting is not helpful, ask yourself why that could be.

I'm not saying get rid, I'm saying the public shouldn't fund it anymore.

Oddly, I see the Royal family as in the same way as the BBC, would we be better without it. They do give a lot of pleasure to a greater part of the country.

At a guess 85% of the population are pro the royal family.

Would that not mean adverts. Thetefore a worse watch.
Are you not thereby making life a little but worse for many people.
I get what you're saying Rob but adverts aren't the end of the world. It would also give them more revenue so can be a good thing aswell
