Imagine if Every Kid Arriving at School Got A Covid Test

I was in Osbournes in Yarm yesterday and they have a zapper on the door . One fella got turned away as he was 38+ Celsius . Great little device

Temperature testing seems to be the thing missing from our arsenal. They should be checking the temp of everyone getting on the public transport, everyone going into a pub or restaurant.

Of course they test people at Eton. If you have more money you get more from life. I don't see why this should be such a surprise. Better justice better healthcare better life. Many of you lot will be afforded tremendous privleges because of your wealth. And all of us will be better off than some poor ****** living in Gaza or somewhere.

So you think Eton shouldn't be allowed to take the sensible precaution of trying to make their boarding school covid free unless an almost pointless regime of testing all school children everyday is implemented?

Imagine the consequences if all the kids were tested everyday. With a false positive rate of 0.8% & many schools sending whole year groups home if one pupil tests positive then it wouldn't be long before most the schools were shut.

Argue against the existence of private education by all means (you never know I might agree with you) but don't pretend that the Eton kids getting tested is some great injustice.

Good point ref ‘boarding’ - a single negative test for everyone effectively creates an Eton bubble (as if they didn’t already have one mind ;))
Forgive the OP tho - I’ll take every opportunity to take a cheap shot at that lot.

It's a brilliant idea BB. So brilliant I am amazed that it is not extended to the rest of the country's school children. I wonder why a registered charity can receive these tests and other children can't. Could you help me?

No it's not for Eton. They are in permament 24x7 bubbles so they need tests least of all.

You'd want testing at 14k a year outlay for parents. It's the very least I'd demand.

Oh and a free pencil case😂

Pointless testing schoolkids who are not in boarding schools as the tests take too long to come back (and the rapid antigen tests are not reliable).

You could be tested on a Thursday, get a negative result the following Monday but have become infected over the weekend (and then go round being a "super spreader" because you don't think you have to be careful because of your negative result.
