I'm a bit worried

I'm not sure why Carrick is sticking with McNair, Smith and Archer when we have viable alternatives who are due a chance.

McNair again tonight looked all over the shop. Either Fry or Dijksteel would have been better I think.

Archer looks a bit lost at the moment. And I don't think Ramsey had more than 1 touch 2nd half.

All managers have to learn but I hope he's not sticking with the players to not ruin their confidence or some other poor reason.

Our run of fixtures now is really he tough. Carrick needs to make some brave and difficult decisions.

He could make his life easier by saying Fry has a niggle or something.

But this is his first test and he's got 48 hours to find a way of getting something from a ground where we generally struggle.

Going to be a long old couple of days stewing on tonight. I know Burnley are good but the goals conceded are symptomatic of our recent problems. We can see it, other teams can see it, it's name for Carrick to sort it out.

For me we are a better team without Ramsey in the side. I find he often takes too many touches and tries to do too much, would prefer to have Forss starting. Tommy smith needs looking into as well. It’s clear to see that the intense schedule has taken its toll on him, he looked knackered after about 70 mins and was caught out of position countless times .

Well one was offside for a start so can’t legislate for that.

Ramsey and Archer were very, very poor last night, Smith was a 5/10 slightly better.
But Giles, McGree, Lenihan, Hackney....all looked completely off it.
Apart from the second goal, thought Howson had a good game, but even he noticeably tired.
McNair.....didn't do a lot wrong apart from the second goal, but I do feel more confident with Fry in the team.
Overall, very good team Burnley and we were in no way steamrolled. But worrying we look tired, disjointed and actually low on confidence. Get this blip out of the way now and rediscover our form going into the playoffs 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

In fairness to Smith, when Forss plays, he tracks back and covers with Smith, they link up well as a unit in both directions, Ramsey offers much less defensively and tends to wander around the pitch more, he is decent in possession, but i would say his heat map leaves Smith more exposed. McGree is excellent when played on the left, but his lack of a right foot exposes him and limits his impact on the right and should never be on the right. Carrick was wrong to switch him there mid game, it simply weakens us and does not work, so please stop. Forss is the best we have right now and that helps stop Smiths isolation and exposure when out of possession.

Ramsay gets knocked off the ball far too easily. Burnley were able to muscle him off the ball time and time again. Ramsay is effective when he is given time on the ball but Burnley never gave him that at all Consequently he was a bit part player and made to look lightweight.

I was surprised not to see Fry play last night, but maybe on reflection Carrick was looking ahead to the next two as well as last night. Important we get something at Bristol City if only to stop us lot having a meltdown. Norwich next week looks another important one too. At the moment I would be pleased with a couple of draws.

Yeah, the ship needs steadying as the waters have become a little choppy, but we were playing the champions elect and by far the best team in the league, that said they created very little and were somewhat fortunate due to a couple of defensive lapses and a glorious missed opportunity at the death.

He won’t bring Djiksteel in now, I agree Smith looks like he needs a rest but I just can’t see it. Forss and Fry absolutely need to be back in the starting 11.
Forss seemed to pay the price for Huddersfield’s first last weekend by being omitted last night. That appart he actually did ok at Huddersfield and finished his goal well. When he came on last night he looked like he had the beating of their left back, but we didn’t have enough of the ball to really test them then. I’m wondering why we aren’t seeing more of Barlaser, particularly when we are struggling in midfield?

No issue with Smith for me. Agree about McNair and Ramsay though, Fry and Forss should be in ahead of these two every time.
Fry will have a physical reason keeping him out of the side I imagine.
Forss would have been the right call, but Ramsey was our best player against Hudds which is why he was probably selected initially.

Too many players were off it last night but have been since the international break. Smith and Hackney look like the most knackered to me and we have adequate replacements to freshen things up

Bola is a better defender than Giles. Fry and Forrs have to start whilst Hackney needs a rest. Thought it was ridiculous last night putting crooks up front when we had forrs on the bench and Muniz presumably in the stand. Archer doesn’t do a lot for me.

Ramsey is obviously a good player but I think he struggles against the better teams in this division as he needs an extra touch. Give him time and he’s brilliant, unfortunately teams like Burnley (and anyone we might meet in the playoffs) don’t.

McNair is now directly responsible for far too many goals. Why Fry isn’t playing is a mystery.

Ditto Barlaser, unless he’s showing nothing in training.
