If you could go back and re watch any LEAGUE game in our history. What game would you pick?

Probably name to many, but Ill be ultimately greedy.

English League V Scottish League March 1968 first game I attended at Ayresome Park, with my dad and brother.

Then enjoy another 56 years of seeing the people I have loved in my life, and living it all again. I wouldn't change a thing, as all things have to happen don't they, and despite some blows I've had a hell good time here.

1966 67 season v Oxford Utd 4.1 the start of a reborn boro
We were let out of school early because of the expected crowd......another bonus!!

March 2002. Frank Sinclair secures all three points for Boro after three minutes with a thirty yard scuff that trundles past Ian Walker who reacts like a man wearing diving boots. Forget your Basles and your Steaua Bucharests, that was a moment that will endure for all time.

Haha! My season ticket in the North Stand was in direct line with Sinclair when he played this pass-back and still remember it like it happened last night. How weird that these odd little situations stay with you a long time!

Are we re-watching it live as an adult? If so, it would have to be the Luton Town game at Ayresome in 1995. I was only 9 and a lot of the day is lost on me. I vaguely remember the legends pitch walk, but can't really remember the goals. I remember my Dad sat me on one of the railings in the Holgate corner when we scored the second but I think that was more for my protection!

I had face paint on with a MIDDLESBROUGH FC bucket hat and kept it on til my Mam insisted I had to remove it for school a day or so later.

1998 - Man U away - Keane, Beckham, Scholes, Neville;s et al
First ever win at OT

Ricard, Dean Gordon and Brian Deane put us 3-0 up.
Got a bit jittery as they pulled 2 back

But won and................ went 4th

Yep, awesome that one.

I'd say beating Chelsea in the playoff 'final' first leg. I did attend. I was only 13 and in the Holgate with my dad.

I'd love to sample it as an adult and after a few beers. Although if I could alter history a bit I'd have it as the 2nd leg. Imagine us being promoted that day. Although no doubt absolute carnage 😂

Before I was born - but the "Mannion match"

The BBC documentary on him said he ran 45 yards balancing the ball on his foot and his head i.e without it touch the ground and the balls were very heavy then. He also took Blackpool apart.

I think it ws at home to Blackpool in the late 1930s, He wanted to impress his girlfriend so she would marry him is the myth.

I would go April 1974 v Sheff Wednesday when we celebrated winning the title with an 8-0 win.

Souness scored a hat-trick and Mills, Murdoch, Hickton and Foggon (2) getting the others.

Team: Platt, Spraggon, Craggs, Maddren, Boam, Armstrong, Murdoch, Souness, Foggon, Mills & Hickton. Sub: Harry Charlton.
I can still remember it now. Eightsome Reelers was the headline in the Sports Gazette.

The Brighton game - I still say the atmosphere that day was the best I have ever heard at the Riverside. There were some special nights at Ayresome, but the Brighton game was amazing. My son was a bit too young to understand the significance at the time, but he has been hooked since.
I would go for a game against Brighton too, but certainly a different one.

We played Brighton in the first game of the season in 1958. 9-0 was the score with Clough getting 5, Peachy scoring 2 and Bill Harris getting the other 2 goals from penalties. Boro were a certainty to win the league. Not quite, we finished lucky 13th.

2 games I never got to go to which I’d have loved to were the promotion games v Chelsea away in 88, and Wolves in 1992. I was at an age where it was home games only. Gutted I couldn’t be taken to these, although in the case of the Chelsea game it was probably a blessing.

Far too may to mention both at Ayresome Park & The Riverside but I’d go for 30th April 1995. The last league game at Ayresome Park against Luton to get promoted.
Even at the tender age of 20 I remember looking back at the Holgate end as I walked out thinking of all the times good, bad and awful times. Not even knowing what was to come!! Europe and a cup win!!

Would love to go back and see how good Mannion was, but the thread does say "re-watch" so on a point of pedantry your answer isn't allowed 😉

Leicester City away game in 1997 pre league cup final...at the old Filbert Street.

We ripped them apart and the little fella was in full flight.

The main chant was "we're going to Wembley twice" and everything seemed amazing.

Only downside perhaps was O'Neil working us out for the final a month later...but what a game that was!!

The Juninho game. Would love to be back there at that game...in those times.
