IF Wilder were to leave, who would your replacement be?

He mirrored exactly Garry Monk’s results for the first half of the season.. going out to Villa without a wimper.

Then with a full season he failed to make the cut, he made an absolute pigs ear of the season. A total blag and a total wasterman!!
We missed out by one place that season? Not sure that's abject failure?

Who cares if his football was awful, no style points in this game.

Mark Robins has done an excellent job at Coventry and we could do a lot worse than go for him if a vacancy exists soon.
Expect next year we will have a fairly big budget with the Spence sale, always doubts about managers who’ve done well on a budget when they go to a big club, same with Jones. Would still take a chance on either though or Critchely if we needed to

Of those linked with Burnley (who can probably attract a similar profile of manager), Nuno all day for me. Excellent manager.

Nathan Jones has been superb at Luton but stank the place out at Stoke when given money and a half decent squad. Probably the most hated man in the potteries.
How about Jimmy Floyd?

His football was aweful, his results were dire, his signings were aweful.. his transfer business was rank. Players didn’t want to play for him. No improvement on Garry Monk imo

He probably wasn't an improvement on Garry Monk (46% win v 43%) but he wasn't far off.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating his return or anything but I genuinely think his style of football clouds things - in pure results terms he was one of the better managers we've had over the last 5 years.

Not convinced he started our downward spiral towards league 1 either - for me that's squarely with the decision to let Woodgate try and play Klopp's brand of football with Pulis' squad.

Wouldn't imagine Bielsa would be Gibson's cup of tea.
Can't abide Rooney as a person but he's done wonders with Derby under the circumstances.
We would once again be a stepping stone.

Wilder is getting all a bit toxic now. If he stays and we don't make the play-offs his realationship with the fans will not be good. Hard to see how he could stay.... or how Gibson would react given his very real desire for loyalty and discretion in every quarter.
