If that OG didnt go in

I think some people need to grow a pair. It's a good job some of you weren't around in 1986, there would be a queue of "Boro" fans at the bottom of the Transporter ready to dive into the Tees.
We took one of the best sides in this division to within a decent point. A lucky deflection for their first, and an unlucky own goal for their third.
We're following the Boro, it goes like this at times.
Good job some weren't around in the 82/3 season when we had a run of ten games before a win:

Lost 3-1 v Sheffield Wednesday [28th August 82]
Lost 4-1 v Burnley
Drew 1-1 v Newcastle
Drew 1-1 v Derby
Lost 4-1 v Fulham
Lost 3-0 v Crystal Palace
Lost 4-1 v Grimsby Town [Attendance at Ayresome Park: 5927]
Drew 1-1 v Oldham
Lost 3-2 v Burnley [Cup]
Drew 2-2 v Shrewsbury
Won 1-0 v Bolton [16th October 82].

It was heartbreaking.
There were more ghosts in the Stadium than there were seats.

I remember standing against the same crash barrier in the Holgate, where only two years earlier you could barely move, and all you could hear was the echo of absent voices.

"Ay up". Hope you are keeping well. I think we've all been here before somehow. It's like a mutual friend used to say "this lot always let you down"!!

I'd forgotten that run of games old man. I went to quite a few of them with my dad. Now he could teach half our posters a thing or two about glass half empty. The youth today think they invented pessimism.

It wouldn't be Boro if it wasn't for the gallows humour and self-deprecation.
But, woe betide any "foreigner" from other parts, who dare take the **** or slag the place off! [Especially that **** from up the road].

"Vengeance is mine"!

A draw would have been considerably better...clearly 😂. We've played a lot worse and won.

They are unfortunately a decent side and in context 2-2 wouldn't have been a disaster.

The issue isn't not beating Sunderland or Burnley etc. Its failing to beat the likes of Plymouth / Cardiff / Sheff wed / PNE / Pompey and the countless other bottom half sides we've failed to beat.

The knock on is that when we don't beat Sunderland it's massive because we've dropped so many points against others.
