Good point. Should be banned from playing until they doWhat about the payers who are refusing to be jabbed???
So fans can't go in but OK for players really makes sense.Good on them
That's not the point - players should not be allowed to play if fans can't go in. If they do want Vac that fine but they should be the same as everyone else."refusing"...dear me, whatever your thoughts on covid and vaccines, respecting personal choice and freedoms is absolutely paramount in a free society. not long before the pitchforks are out for any remaining unvaccinated people
But players arent spectators (ok maybe some at the boro could be identified as such) and theres a different level of interaction and environments, etc. May be they are subject to other controls that arent practical for fans. Anyway, "we" arent in scotland or wales so our fans dont need to so why should the players and if youre specifically talking about players in those leagues then im not really fussed what they do in other countries, each to their own which really should be the prevailing attitude in life and would result in a lot less strife and a lot less busy bodies wanting to exert controlThat's not the point - players should not be allowed to play if fans can't go in. Very much like doctors nurses have to have certain vacs.
No, but you can stop people who don't care about catching and spreading the virus from being in large crowds"refusing"...dear me, whatever your thoughts on covid and vaccines, respecting personal choice and freedoms is absolutely paramount in a free society. not long before the pitchforks are out for any remaining unvaccinated people
It's not about being busy bodies I really couldn't care if someone does not want to be vaccinated. Figures are going up and I really do want to be stuck in this winter. But players arent spectators (ok maybe some at the boro could be identified as such) and theres a different level of interaction and environments, etc. May be they are subject to other controls that arent practical for fans. We ain't even interested in the easy wins cambs. If passports do become a thing in england it will be a hail Mary from Johnson to avoid another lockdown.I think i'd follow the guidelines of whether a vaccination is required to go to work in Scotland and Wales. Very few professions currently require vaccination to be employed so I expect they would, and should fit in that camp.
I would be surprised if the police/ stewards/ cashiers/ ticket sellers are required to be covid vaccinated to go to work.
There has to be some pragmatism in what we do as a country to protect the most possible people with least possible effort- people choosing to go to an event is a fairly easy win in my opinion.
Testing of people is also fairly useful within the workplace, and i'm sure players are being tested fairly regularly.
Go for the easy wins- masking, hygiene, testing, ventilation, mass vaccination. Most of the population will work with these. If you target on an individual level you are wasting resources.
Im not necessarily disagreeing with you but it does merit more than surface scratching. For those that choose not to have the vaccine, how would you propose they stay out of the way of those that have had it, i.e., how would each group be identified? And why would those that have had it need to worry about those that havent? Isnt that the purpose of the vaccine? Maybe its time fixtures were not so much home and away but vaxxed and unvaxxed m(obviously extending to team selection and more importantly in everyday life, pubs)It's not about being busy bodies I really couldn't care if someone does not want to be vaccinated. So fine if you don't want Vac just keep out of the way of those that have had it.
Anti vaxers - I wonder if they get their children vaccinated with usual Vacs?

You quite rightly point out that maintaining some rules over summer would have had no impact on us as individuals but may have impacted the highest rate of infections in Europe.
Vax passports or negative lateral flow tests. Keep it simple.Im not necessarily disagreeing with you but it does merit more than surface scratching. We only play two fixtures in Wales a season - this will impact on fans this weekend - it is a fair point to ask should it also impact on our players v Cardiff. Certainly Neil Warnock and others at the club would love our players to all get vaccinated.Im not necessarily disagreeing with you but it does merit more than surface scratching. OK, so that would work with limited effectiveness i suppose - controlled entry to venues, etc. but not general public interaction so whats the pointI agree. From a public health point of view the last 18 months are a car crash.

To make people feel more safe and secure in those environments where there are a lot of people - however incremental it may be it will make them a bit safer.OK

Not disputing whether its a fair point to ask but its also fair to consider players personal choice. They are individuals first and foremost before they are players so they should not be compelled or coerced to be jabbed if they dont want to purely for the purposes of our entertainment - that said by the same token the club are entirely within their rights to sit them out and as long as theyre not financially penalised i doubt the players would object too strongly. We only play two fixtures in Wales a season - this will impact on fans this weekend - it is a fair point to ask should it also impact on our players v Cardiff.
