Good question zorro, too many to chose from, when I've thought about this in the past strangly its not the big games but the times we were struggling at the foot of the 2nd division, managers like Malcolm Allison, the late, great Willie Maddren, when Bruce Rioch 1st took over etc, those days
Night match v Newcastles when Hammy scored a scorcher in the last minute in 83, the 3-2 FAC win over Arsenal its more days at AP when the crowds were around 4k

I was intrigued what your choice would be E74 as a nostalgia buff.

btw for it would be the game I heard so much about growing up ( but i was too young at the time ) the 7-2 demolition of Chelsea.
I bet that was amazing to see.

Those days shaped us a s Boro fans (y)

Gawd - for us oldies its a tough un
But
The first game at The Riverside. Went with my brother and we were both extremely emotional when we first came up the steps and sobbed on each other’s shoulders. How far the club had come......
He died at the dreadfully young age of 44 with the big C and I cherish memories like that.

Nice, cherished memory finny, I lost my brother aged 52 who, like me was Boro daft, he would drive down to Brighton on his own to see the Boro, we went together for which seemed like years
When we got to the playoff final I said to him I wouldnt want to be with anyone else at this moment * he said me too, we got a photo together & it was the last photo we got of us both at a Boro game

This is a tough one but I'd have to say......

Middlesbrough 3 Sunderland 1 - FA Cup 4th Round - 1975. I was 13 years old and us wearing our away kit at home was something I found weirdly special. Two penalties, in the mud. Fantastic game, great day.

Probably my favourite FAC match, certainly my favourite away strip, thanks for posting (y)

Heres one I was talking about zorro

18th February 1982

Boro 1 Arseanl 1

Boro losing 1-0 at AP & time fast running out & a Boro legend Heine Otto chip the ball over Pat Jennings for the eualiser & force a replay at Highbury

I was lucky enough to have met HO during the summer while in Amsterdam & he spoke fondly of that game & the fact he scored past Arsenal & Pat Jennings, anyone can follow a successful team, the hardest is following a team struggling badly

Boro vs Villa to get to a Wembley final. Great game and my favourite Boro goal (Slaven). My ears have never recovered.

Was alive but I wasn't old enough to go but I've seen some videos and Wolves v 'Boro in 1992 on the last day of the season looked a belting game.

Final game, needed a win, down to ten men, away from home and 1-0 down entering last 20 minutes or so....only to end up nicking a winner to clinch promotion!

Celebrations looked incredible.

Boro 6-2 QPR, the Mcilmoyle match, was total unplayable that day, 2-0 down ,I remember thinking we were going to get a right hiding, then up stepped Hughie and King John, fantastic game for a young lad ....

That was my favourite away game. Travelling to the match there were reports of a fire and it might be cancelled. Not the friendliest of exits as Wolves fans not too interested in congratulating us.

With 10 men it looked over as we hadn't played too well.

Oddly it's one during my lifetime. I had gastric flu when we played Basel. Had to give up my ticket and couldn't quite enjoy it. Wouls like to experience it from somewhere other than the toilet.

Smalltown - come on fella. I was eating my sandwich when I read that.:devilish:

Yowzer, this is a toughie. It has to be at AP first and foremost. We have had great times at the Riverside, but no AP it is. The 7-2 being a night game too makes it all the more special, then I thought the 8-0 demolition of Sheff Weds, I flirted with the 6-1 thrashing of Norwich, but have opted for the 4-1 thumping of the mighty gunners in the F.A. Cup 5th round in 1977. I believed we were finally going to win the once great trophy. Oh to be 16 again too.
