"I'd rather play the fella in the street before Silvera"

Well that was a coupon buster and I love it!

Silvera is having a sneaky decent first season in the championship to be fair. I think it’s 6 goals and 3 assists in all competitions. I think if we develop him more in the summer (maybe add some muscle so he’s not as soft on the ball) he could be a stand out player for us next season.

Let’s just enjoy the winning feeling tonight and not think about the next match! UTB!

Silvera seemed to suffer a crisis of confidence at the start of the season when he missed two open goal chances and was then trying too hard in his next few games before being benched. He really seems to have settled down and has improved his decision making recently. Could become a very good player for us. Certainly has talent.

I agree Silvera has pace is a little wreckers at times in possession but playing up top that risk reward factor is less as losing it up top isn’t as big an issue and that maverick awash buckling style is real plus in their box.

Plus Riley knows his from the oz training camps.

Hopefully we’ve cracked his role.

I think he's had a decent first season. He cost peanuts and coming from a far poorer league.

He's young enough to improve massively. It's not just about this season. We may see a completely different player next season. He's got a decent eye for goal. Also a bit of skill about him.

Yet clearly not the finished product. Yet why would he be? We'd not be signing him for peanuts if he was. That or other clubs would out bid us.

He gets some strange stick. Cost 'nothing' and clearly tries his best. It's not like spending 7mil on Fletcher as a 'project' or potential.

Give the guy a chance. Again it's probably next season that we may see the best of him. That's his 6th goal of the season. That's a decent return. He looked a better CF option than Greenwood. He at least understands the offside rule 😉

It's crazy how quickly some of our summer signings are written on by fans; the step up in quality to the championship can't be underestimated.

He looked stronger today than at the beginning of the season, both his body strength and fitness.

He's steadily improving for sure, and whilst he is in not sure anyone can have any complaints.

Wasn’t he about £400k or something? Probably on a few grand a week. It’s pennies really… for a young, pacey attacking player with potential to improve, who has probably had to play much more than expected in his first season because of all the injuries.

We’ve paid more than that for squad players over the years who barely had a kick for us. We paid £500k for Marlon Beresford about 25 years ago!

Carrick — From The Preston Media Conference Transcript:

You haven't got the goalscorers with more than 4 or 5 goals and no one like Chuba Ackpom, so where are your goals coming from?

[Stern face. Blunt reply] Yeah. We haven't so far, so who knows? Plenty of games to go, and the boys are capable of scoring goals….[we're] creating a lot of chances and our attacking players in particular are capable of scoring goals, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone goes on a [scoring] run. It feels like it's coming.

Who would Carrick `put your money on` to score those goals?!

No, it's about the group, it's about the group! It's not about one player making a difference. It's about everyone chipping in and playing their part.

300-400k? I'd say that's decent business. What do some expect for that price? Always signed as a 'project' for the new model.

I'm sure he's played far more than he expected. Just like Rav / Greenwood. It's been down to necessity due to injuries.

He will could finish with more goals than Lath and Coburn (clearly injury related).

Pass that pie this way. Have to admit, I gave my 'No' on the Will we beat Leicester thread, though in my defence I stated my reason as someone starting the thread being a jinx?😁

And I didn't knock Silvera either, so just a small slice for me please. In fact I'll have that little scabby bit of crust that someone's left over.👍

IPad I backed us to win and still expected us to loose.

Being realistic is just fine.

Sammy scored a cracking goal at Exeter in the cup as did Roger’s. Two players who were forever being spanked on here at the season’s outset.
