There were some great framed pictures of the Boro in the old Boro Fish Bar on Linthorpe Road. One in particular was Hickton scoring a penalty. A fantastic picture that I've never seen anywhere else. I think they all got destroyed when the place burnt down.

I was actually there that day and stood near Abby curve ( as was towards bridge) and I took the picture as they rolled past waiting to get the perfect shot ( on the old boots camera) and it wasn’t until a few weeks later after I got them back from the chemist that I saw my photo of this iconic moment…

A great shot of empty silverstone track, I’d missed them.

The Maccarone diving header photo got me thinking of great sporting photos. I'll start with this from the 1986 world cup.

Great photo, but the debunking of the circumstances ruined it a little bit for me.

The Maccarone diving header photo got me thinking of great sporting photos. I'll start with this from the 1986 world cup.

This photograph is a little misleading though. It’s just a Belgian wall breaking up after a short free kick was played.
It is an iconic photograph though.

I think the picture was from the gazette photographer, it was Hicktons penalty against QPR. I was at the game we were 0-2 after about 10 mins. Ended up winning 6-2. Pen was fourth I think and part of Hicktons hat trick.

It was a great picture, with Hickton in the air celebrating arms raised and the ball in the back of the net, with the goalie still in midair. Maybe Erimus can dig it out.
