Ian Watkins stabbed in jail

There’s probably a mixture on opinions on that topic, as with most. Reading the messages above your post, support for the death penalty wasn’t the one clear opinion I saw coming through.
Some were seemingly quite happy were Watkins to end up having been murdered though, so vigilanteism is ok maybe to some in certain circumstances? Watkins will have been sentenced to death by someone were he to die, it will have been because of his wicked crimes, just not sentenced lawfully by a judge, how can people who support a civilised society revel in that?

For me, my biggest reservation about having a death penalty is killing people that were incorrectly prosecuted and also it isn't a deterrent. With Watkins we know he did what he was convicted for, he bragged about it, he didn't seem to care that he got caught and he showed no remorse whatsoever. I can't help but think that the world would be better off with him not in it. I'm not pro death penalty but I am pro never hearing anything about him ever again. If he dies now then he might never be mentioned again but if he lives then every time his situation changes his hideous face will appear in news headlines and I'll be reminded of him and his crimes. I imagine that will be 100x more acute for his victims.

Personally if he lives then I hope he suffers every single day of his sick twisted existence , if he dies I have no issues with that either and I hope he suffers in death too , either way none of it will compare to the suffering he caused to those poor kids .

He wasn’t given the death penalty. A 29 year sentence shows how sick his crimes were. It’s not surprising other prisoners have taken matters into their own hands.
I agree. Not given other prisoners any credit as they might be fellow paedophilies, but hope it stays alive the full 29 years , suffers every day - and does the day it is due to be released
I don't class paedophilies as human. Calling them animals is unfair comparison to animals. They are monsters....utter scum

So do I, so are the board supporting the death penalty now for certain crimes?
As much as it deserves the death penalty I'll have to say no mate
The recent case of Malkinson many years for a rape he didn't commit seem to show we have moved in far enough since poor Kiscko being imprisoned for Castree's child rape and murder in the 70s

I don’t know if he’s still in Wakefield, but I did wonder if this could be the work of Gary Vinter - him who killed Carl Edon in South Bank. He’s already done similar to Ian Huntley and Roy Whiting.

You keep making this point but I have reread the first 27 posts of this thread and I can't really find anything to support this perception that you have.

To the contrary, a number suggested they were happy for him to live and suffer everyday as a punishment. Some didn't seem to care whether he died or not. Can you give us post numbers or quotes that support your statements that the board seemingly want him dead?

Not looking for an argument btw. I just can't help but feel that you are maybe influenced by a previous discussion and are now reading into our posts sentiments that maybe haven't been expressed in this thread?

My point is “The board” doesn’t hold those views. Certain individuals might and you’d need to direct your questions to them but most don’t appear to hold that view.

You must have missed #11 then for starters, see below, which also got a like.

Rather he just got done in now than taxpayer paying for ready of his life eating porridge

He's still in HMP Wakefield so probably

Edit - Upon further research it would seem he isn't, he's in Whitemoor as of 2020
