Depends what end of the sentence is.Is this the new “the league is lying”
Well there is if you are the type of fan who wants to lay the blame. I suppose it makes them feel better if someone is getting punished. Not sure who it was but someone on here used that very word, punished.Carrick is defending his players, there is nothing wrong with that.
I feel people would rather he said they’re ****Well there is if you are the type of fan who wants to lay the blame. I suppose it makes them feel better if someone is getting punished. Not sure who it was but someone on here used that very word, punished.
They have been underperforming, perhaps Carrick genuinely believes it's his issue. When asked directly, are they good enough. His response was 100%.I feel people would rather he said they’re ****

He could also be trying to support the players. Someone made the point, I think in this thread, that Ferguson never publicly blamed his players for their performance. We all recall the 5-0 thrashing by southampton where he blamed the grey shirts. Clealry an attempt, and a ridiculous one, to keep blame from his players. I have no doubt he had plenty to say in private.
I think you have to be wary of assuming the criticism is aimed at all posters who post honest, and more importantly, reasonable criticisms of the team.I do giggle when the supercilious look down with disdain at people that have given honest frank opinion on Boro and their performances so far. They tend to spin comments to suit a narrative that isn’t reality in order to seem a cut above, bless.
Comments like suggesting people want a head coach to say his players are ****. I mean really, that is such arrogant nonsense and smug generalisation if any one person even did suggest it. They probably assume people want to or enjoy laying blame at the door of people for the sake of it, again haughty nonsense.
Supporters truthfully saying what they see and expressing how they feel seems to be wanted to be shut down in certain quarters. They seem to lack the ability to understand that they give praise where its due too as well as constructive criticism where merited, human beings have feelings, some would like to repress them in some it would seem. I wonder why that is and their reason why they do? They wouldn’t want issues or problems to go unnoticed and not acted on by those in roles within the club yet arrogantly expect supporters to hush, clap like seals and lap up the entertainment no matter how good or bad it is. They don’t behave that way in political threads, or threads on real world issues, I wonder why?
Now where did I put my crimson specs, I hope I get to find them in time for when the corner is eventually turned as it hopefully will be, after all, we all do really want the same thing, a successful and winning Boro, gathering points to spread joy among our hearts.
I don't disagree, but there is a difference between slating players publicly and acknowledging that performances have been poor.I agree - Carrick has absolutely nothing to gain from blaming his players - Windows closed, season is under way - Even as fans, we have nothing to gain from doing anything but getting behind them.

Is that really surprising when you consider the position the club is in?Do you remember how you and Ray used to go about Brad Jones on the old board? It was way beyond constructive criticism.
Things aren't good right now but nearly every thread is doom-mongering.
