I honestly think that was one of worst games of football I’ve ever seen

Well if our remaining 12 games are like that I will take that all day long as that will be another 36 points on the board. It wasn't easy on the eye but at times you have to grind it out in this league and that's exactly what we did.

loads of end of season games where nothing at stake, one comes to mind at the riverside v Watford.... as Rob says nothing to play for , no effort, basically a kick about with no tackling. All thinking about Hols and not wanting any injuries to keep them from the beach

That Cardiff match in the cup under Gareth Southgate was by far worst game Ive watched since the Riverside era began! [Alongside 0-0 at home to Brum under Aitor].
Oh hang on.......Sheff Wed, Forest, Bristol City.....correct the above to "one of the worst..."!!

The pitch is absolutely awful. I've seen a few this season and just thought WTF? I know they share with Brum so twice as many games getting played.

I Couldn’t understand the sprinklers on full blast before kick off. Who's that helping? You think that's bad just look at Peterboroughs pitch on soccer Saturday...jesus🙄

That said the quality of 'football' was basically none existent. It was pretty dire and definitely not one for the purists. That said 3 points is all that matters. We've played better and lost.

I said the same about the sprinklers. You could see the water on the surface so I couldn't believe it when they came on.

It was an awful game but I've seen us play in worse. Probably against Wimbledon or Grimsby.

The pitch last night was absolutely abysmal. They may as well have played in a car park. I don't remember Coventry playing so many aerial balls when they were at the Riverside so the pitch doesn't seem to be helping them very much either. I'm not saying it was the only factor because Boro have a habit of launching it out very quickly but that surface was horrible. One of those ones where you know within the first minute that it's going to be a terrible game.

Zoom lesson?

How to switch on video? How not to talk over someone? How to ensure you have a bookcase behind you that looks like you are sophisticated or at least you don’t live in a hovel?
Funnily enough we did discuss the workings of Zoom. But in forrin.

Not the worst game but decidedly odd. Anything into midfield and we just booted, flicked or headed it on even when there was time and space. I felt sure it would change after half time but it didn't really, we just carried on in much the same vein. It was hard to come to any other conclusion than it was a plan but given the nature of the play it's equally hard to believe it was. I should add that I'm no football 'stylist' I just want the Boro to win and I don't care how they do it, I just laughed when Sav poked the winner home given everything that had gone before. (y)

it was a terrible game, but weirdly watchable! Found myself in a bit of a trance watching it, and actually enjoyed the throwback nature of the pitch and playing styles

Sav did get into the mix to score the winner. He did ok when he came on.

A lot was said of the bouncy pitch, but they played some decent stuff on the floor and we did as much to make the pitch the winner as possible. Very strange.

Really enjoyed it, can't remember too many games like that at this level.

I definitely think our strategy was to keep the ball off deck, McFadzean aside their other two centre halves looked a little lightweight, potential thought we could get amongst them?

That said, it was very refreshing watching Kebano get on the ball and prove you could actually play football on the pitch ;)

Grimsby at home when we got beat 4-1 in about 82. It was our third 1-4 defeat on the bounce at home .Not that I watched it I was leaning on an Holgate stanchion reading my programme and looked up every time I heard their 75 fans cheer .

No one can blame the pitch as it was in the air 90% of the time.
Was that because of the pitch, though 🧐

What I found telling was the fact that no-one seemed to have a clue what was happening when they were block tackling down the side-lines. The ball wasn't sticking to feet and seemed to just ping-pong around. I'm assuming that was due to the wet.

Good three points in the end. We've played a lot better and lost.
