In those world cups probably the refs were under instruction to clamp down on anything physical. Noticeable they are allowing a lot of physical contact which is only good.

At Euro 2012 I came across a group of Scots who’d specifically gone to get behind everyone England were playing. They had ghetto blasters, kilts, the lot, no idea how pathetic they looked.

Obviously it’s not all Scots, not even a large proportion, but the fact that those type exist is mind-boggling. Imagine living your life with that kind of bitterness.

Anyway back to the coverage what was with klinsman fawning all over the Welsh has he got a holiday chalet in Rhyl or something.
 
It really shocked me that vid as these aren’t fans going nuts when England got knocked out but professional football players all of whom played in England at the time and most were born in England.

Our departure as well had no bearing at all on wales own position either so it was just pure spite against a fellow pro and many of their own teammates.

It was just very odd.

Our expectations and hopes are going a lot further than the group stages - lets face it, our group is one of the easier ones. There are a number of poor teams in the WC. Wales are a bit of an aging team (well their main stars - Bale and Ramsey). Generally happens with the smaller populated countries - look at Croatia - they've had a great run for about 10 years with Modric, etc, but age catches up with us all eventually! Wales are just another poor team. Would have liked them to have done better, considering its their first WC in 58 years, but looks like they are going out without a whimper (unless they leave on a high by beating England??).

I'm not sure you realise how much the English (sweeping generalisation I accept) are hated, not just in Wales and Scotland, but many countries in Europe - the perceived arrogance and superior attitude, Brexit rhetoric, groups of gob5hite lads on pi55 up holidays laughing at the locals, old fart expats refusing to integrate, "johnny foreigner" humour etc etc - this transposes itself to the country's sports teams unfortunately

No I get that completely by fans

but these were players most of which were English themselves playing and living in England.

Whilst you’re right there’s no way Scotland/Wales are exempt from that kind of behaviour.

Let’s not forget Wales wanted Brexit too.
