I feel proper deflated

Im feeling relieved we dont have to go through playoffs agony . Sorry this squad was never going to be able to compete with lecester, southampton, leeds and ipswich, even wrst brom. 3 of which will likely be in the playoffs anyways. Also if we went up we be demolished every week...now that truly would be deflating

Absolutely no chance we could have kept hold of Rodgers.

1. He wanted to go to Villa.
2. £8-16m - about an 800% profit in 6 months.

We are just not in any financial position to turn down this sort of money. Disappointing he left, but life goes on. We'll cope.
Yep - to sit on a bench

I wonder if he will ultimately regret his decision. Not sure how many minutes he will get between now and the end of the season, maybe some in Europe. Can see him going on loan to a championship team in the January window next year. Time will tell...

I stopped letting football ruin my week ages ago, usually move on about 10 mins after a game and forget about it. It's the Boro, that what they do!

Best response so far. I genuinely believe (and I aren't looking to slate anybody or start an argument) that if the outcome of a football match has such a hold over your general level of happiness then it's your life and not the football that is the issue.

We've been very frustrating to watch, but 'twas ever thus. That's part and parcel of being a Boro fan. I can cope with that. UTB all day every day.

But it's the stuff on top of that which is really killing me at the moment. Week after week:
- Terrible officiating
- Constant injuries
- The gypsy curse which sees every shot or deflection unerringly find the bottom corner of our net like some kind of laser guided missile, and any tiny mistake instantly lead to a goal

Yes, of course we have numerous problems of our own making, but our luck has been abysmal. When some of those things clear up, perhaps we'll have a clearer lens through which to judge things.

I'm glad it's not just me who thinks this! 😂
It's not just the deflections, mishit crosses and worldies from players who haven't scored in years, but it seems every tight offside goes against us, defending or attacking. Nailed on penalties don't get given. I can think of several games we've dominated and still not won.
Maybe I'm biased...🤪

Honestly, it really seems that way. I'm not trying to gloss over the problems in the squad and at the club, because they clearly do exist and we can be our own worst enemy sometimes - but it doesn't help that we seem to be suffering a long streak of incredibly bad luck in many ways we can't control. I no longer expect officials to make the correct decisions at either end of the pitch, and I cover my eyes every time an opposition player takes a potshot at goal, because somehow they always seem to find their way in.
