Sky were saying that we need two more points but I don't think so. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but my reasoning as follows:

It would take 3 teams to overtake us for us to finish 7th. There are only 3 teams that can overhaul us now. They are Blackburn and WBA who have 4 games left and Milwall. However Milwall can only equal our current points total and so they would need a 23 goal swing as well which seems unlikely. The main factor though is that Millwall play Blackburn on the last day of the season and so it is impossible for both of them to overhaul us ergo the lowest we can finish is 6th.
 
You are correct.

It was amusing to me (I’m a saddo yes)that BBC reported that Orient were hunting promotion last night when they were actually already promoted as two teams play each other meaning they were up. It’s just shiiit journalism/ research really.

Yes I think you’re correct, we are mathematically now in the play offs

Carrick allows the fans their own journey whilst he keeps the players at a level setting until they themselves can join in.

What I'm thinking now is .. I spare a thought for those 7 clubs fans from Millwall down to Preston. I'm so happy we have been that good that we have stayed on top and above that smashdown. Honestly my nerves couldn't take what they are about to go through in the next 3 or 4 games . 2 will survive , 5 will fall .

We are talking fans celebration .. not players and the club. Been 5 long years since we secured a play off spot with Pulis' first half season. Long time that. Nobody is suggesting you get a banner together and fly it out your car on the A66 flyover. Even if you just want a cheeky knowing smile to yourself , before your next beverage. We're all different. I'm off for 5 Lemontops :D
 
Although I won’t get ahead of myself about what’s to come, I think securing playoffs is something worth celebrating. The chance of us making through them and then winning at Wembley is really in the balance at best, so why not enjoy something that is an achievement?

The mentality of only allowing yourself to celebrate when everything is won inevitably means a largely miserable experience as a football fan. The players and managers are professionals, not doubt they took the opportunity last night and today to take in their achievement, then it will be on thinking about Luton.

Fair enough! I’ve lived in Redcar 8 years now and can’t remember the last time I had a lemontop, might join you.

It’s obviously a good thing, I’m just trying not to get ahead of myself, still 3 games to go before they start, my nerves will kick in as soon as the teams are decided and tickets go on sale.

Shouting about it on this forum as a joke and loudly proclaiming it down the pub in front of all and sundry are two different things.
