Hull City

They’re had the sort of January window we had last year.


I read that we were interested in Zaroury on loan, but “Hull were always favourites to land him”. Why? What’s so good about Hull compared to us?
 
They are really going for it. Be interesting to see if all the new players gel quickly or not. Certainly ambitious from the owner. Probably spent more than any other championship club and 7 or 8 new additions.
 
The previous owners sold the best players and sat on the money. Maguire, Robertson, Bowen, Lewis Potter etc. The new guy seems keen to invest.
 
They spent £5m on Philogene (England Under 21 forward) in the summer. In the last 12 months they have spent alot of money for a Championship team (non parachute money).

I really like Liam Rosenior, if we lost Carrick I'd want him here, that being said not sure he'd swap Hull for us the way they are having a right go at the minute.
 
Fair play to them.

Got nothing against Hull, so wouldn't mind them going up ahead of the bigger teams currently on the play-offs.

Obviously runs a risk of people getting annoyed at the club for not gambling similarly if it pays off.

In the past 15 years we have had three stints in the Premier League, an FA Cup Final, an EFL Cup semi-final and played in Europe.

There are no bigger clubs than us in the Championship.

Leeds & Leicester are definitely bigger clubs than us, regardless of recent history.

Leicester up until they were taken over where similar size to us, I'd of never had leicester as a bigger club than boro, I remember us giving Leicester a few good hidings at Ayresome Park, I'm sure in one of them games we were 4 up at half time around 1990, another time 4-1 mind it may of been different if pearsy wasn't in goal, a young Kevin Campbell was up front for Leicester.
