Huddersfield highlights

Three lovely goals from us, two really good assists for Barlaser as well.

Sloppy from Lenihan for their second, I know it was a big striker but got away from him too easily.

I thought we looked pretty good in those highlights. Silvera is clearly a very good player. And Morgan actually did look decent in the middle. I can see why Carrick thinks he can play there.

Longer (10 minutes) on club site.

On the opening goal, some of the blame there is simply familiarity. Barlaser shows to come short for Van Den Berg and then stops just as VDB plays it. Their consolation goal is a bit sloppy from whoever is marking the big lad (I think its Lenihan) who doesn't attack the ball coming in. But by then we were pretty much home and hosed.

Remember, against 10 men....

One thing for sure the oracle's were right Barlaser is clearly ****... Facepalm.

Unreal you blame the first goal on Barlaser you're class you muttley

No it doesn't it implies some of the blame is on Barlaser... None of it is.
How sweet!

In a team game there is shared culpability, even if your beloved had not been the intended recipient of the pass he might still share some blame perhaps for NOT showing for the ball or being out of position. In this case he moves towards VDB then stops as VDB plays the ball, he is tightly marked so VDB shouldn't have played the ball but if dear Dan hadn't stopped the Hudds player would not have picked up the ball unchallenged. So yes he is partly to blame but mostly I would put it down to them not having much game time together and VDB misreading Barlover's movement.

Yes it is!

Oh dear my humble apologies to Dan B and his fan club

The point I was trying to make before the DB fanclub massive got all angsty was that it was unfair to place all the blame on the young lad it was mostly a mistake born of not playing together as much as they no doubt will in future

For anybody who was there, how did VDB play apart from the clanger for their goal?

Does he look any good? Apparently there was a lot of interest in him.

That first Huddersfield goal was almost a carbon copy of the one at Bradford. Glover and VDB both involved again.
If you're going to play tippy tappy in your own penalty area, you'd better have the necessary skills, awareness and judgement. Tbh, it's stupid and other teams will have taken note.
What's stupid, playing out from the back generally? The two players showed poor judgement, but there's nothing wrong with it as a philosophy. The keeper could've gone long or played it wide right, and the defender had better options than the one he took. He's only 18 or 19 though, and the keeper is new to it.,

I (deliberately) didn't read any of the comments after saturday, but assume Morgan took some stick? Just for the record, i think he could be a very good player for us, but not as the main striker - unless he suddenly learns how to finish, and at only 20 he has plenty of time to learn. I thought his all-round and hold-up play on saturday was very good. The highlights are too short for me to judge his performance last night.

Similar from Morgan Rogers last night really. Struggled to impact the game in the middle and his touch was poor at times. Looked better when he peeled off wide. Should've scored. Looks like he could be decent with some development, but doesn't look like he should be first choice at the moment. We need a striker (or two if Akpom leaves).

Some snake eating itself logic there... You were trying to stop him getting blamed by naming him as 'partly' culpable for the goal (let's not mention he was no where near the play).
Whilst not naming the defender who passed the ball...

Classic 👍

Totally agree. The lad is 18 and he's probably been told by MC to just relax & be calm when playing out. He's been too casual in playing it to a run Hackney had stopped making but that's at least 50% on Hackney for showing for the pass then backtracking. Wouldn't read too much into it. VDB is new at the club and still adjusting to the playing style and his teammates. He'll get there (as will DB imo)
