Howsons pen papering over the cracks in his performance?

I have no doubt his age is probably catching up with him. Yet still a very important player for us. Playing almost every week for 90 mins in CM at 35 is no mean feet.

The more 'worrying' aspect is that at 35 he's had 3 successive 1 year deals. We've still not managed to sign a longterm replacement who's 'as good' or better.

You'd think we would be looking seriously at this position. Barlaser simply doesn't look good enough. A great passing range yet very slow and not the best in the tackle. I'm not writing him off yet. Although expected more from a proven champo CM.

I wonder if maybe O'brien could the longterm solution? Carrick raving about his attitude yesterday. Although yet to see him as an actual CM.

He's still one of our best players.

He's playing like a 35 yr old who has been injured, had no pre season and looks off the pace.

Will take him a bit to get up to full speed👍
