How much did you pay for your first Boro game?

I used to pay £2 unless you could get a “squeeze”! That must have been about 1988.

not sure how true it is but a mate of mine said it was £35 for a season ticket in 1980 and that it was £36 fir the Geordies even though they were a league below - not sure how true that is.
 
First match April 1958 0 p Got in for a squeeze when me Dad lifted me up and went through with 1 click of the turnstile.
First match by myself 1962 total cost 3shillings 3pence about 16p

1s 3p Boys end with leap over the wall when coppers back was turned
 
My dad used to work in one of the kiosks at Holgate end of the south stand on Saturdays in the early 70’s.

When he wasn’t working he would take us along to games but we would only go in if he could find his boss (Eric?) to let us in for free. If he wasn’t around we would walk back home to Kildare Street.

When I started going just with my brother in the mid 70’s I think it was about 30p in the Boys end.
 
In this thread I have learned that some posters are much older than I thought!

Me? 1986 in whatever the stand was called that had the Holgate to the right. My Dad paid, so no idea on price.
 
Boys end late 71 with my younger brother, a tanner is what I can remember our dad giving each to me & my brother, he then went into the Bob end & stood against the wall, infront of us both
 
Boys end in 1970 was (I think) four shillings. Does that sound about right?
I know went into the bob end for the pre-season friendly against AFC Roma and it was 40p. My old man was horrified "eight bob!"
 
First game was 1986 v Blackpool. We were unbeaten, so I decided to go along and watched us get humped 3-1. Sat in east stand, honestly cant remember how much I paid. 2nd game I went on holgate v Bournemouth?? Maybe. Paid 1.80.

First time I paid myself was £8 in the Holgate. Lost my glasses when first goal went in.

Before that it was squeezes and my Dad paying in the South Stand Upper.
