How many players do you think will come in?

Jordan Ibe is a worthless dog 5hit taco of a player.

The rest, who knows. seen Alex Bass linked somewhere, I'm not fussed on the financial implications of Gibson coming back, but would obviously welcome the player of two years ago with open arms.

We definitely need a proper left back, someone 'competitive' up front and some trickery / creativity who can take a set piece.

To raise funds for this? Britt & Fry?

Maybe.
Wesley Said (Right Winger) was mentioned a few weeks back but I think Spence will be first choice for right wing.

I would have thought the funds if needed would be raised by the sale of McNair, Fry, Pears and maybe Wing?

We’ve cleared a ton of the wage bill, filling positions with free transfers and loans looks like the lost

I assumed McNair would be the one to go but that seems to have gone cold.

He might have had a word with Warnock and impressed in training?

Maybe, I'd assumed we needed the money and his wages off the total bill, so it was a club financial decision rather than a managerial sporting one.

We're really short on numbers so I would think players would only go for financial reasons, unless Warnock 100% wants rid, but even then they should only go when we have a replacement almost over the line.

Maybe that's what is happening now?

Ben Gibson has been on the scene for a while and with talk that Dael Fry isn’t in training, that might be one that goes ahead. Again but hard to please poverty when we’re tracking prem players and have high value players in the squad.

The Gibson one is a puzzle, it sounds like we've missed out on a couple of signings due to wages offered. I'll be a little ticked off if we suddenly find £25k a week down the back of the sofa to pay the chairman's nephew to come back for a year when we could have had a younger permanent signing (or two) in.

We’ve actively sought after him though and for quite a while it seems. You could hardly drop the lad in it after all that. Maybe that’s why Burnley don’t want him anymore.. if Ben has been pushing so hard for a move back to boro?

But he has two years left at £40k a week. Surely he knows that isn't anywhere near feasible? Even £20k a week for four years would be risky in the current financial climate.

And that is without a transfer fee. Even a loan would be pointless from a Burnley point of view.

I'm sure he'll have suitors, but surely a couple of teams could loan him and cover his full £40k a week, surely we can't?

And if we do, I really think we shouldn't.

Uncle Steve is gonna dig a bit deeper in his pockets to sort out his nephew. Now if we get a premier league quality defender out of that.. then so be it.

That's it though, one quality defender (who hasn't played in two years effectively), not a centre half, a left back, a target man and a couple of wingers.

If we have £40k a week free that should be four players, not one.
