How many Boro fans missed the 4th goal?

It

It's something the part-timers have brought back on their return, to think we give the mackems stick at least they're usually getting beat
BTFT (Boro till full time)

Its not just a part timers thing. I know lad who often leave early regardless of score and others who leave if we go 2 goals down in first half. They have been going for 30 plus years.

I must admit I only saw the last goal on the screen in the concourse. Due to train strike I was getting a lift back to Redcar and the lad wanted to leave as soon as the whistle blew. Can't normally do that as we sit in Row 29 of East stand and its a nightmare getting out at the end. Also it took him 35 minutes to get out of car park on Tuesday and he was going to his daughters for tea. So when Mowatt hit the bar we went down and watched the last minute on concourse. Not something I ever do:eek::oops:

Always stay to the end, you don't know what you might miss.

Years ago at the Riverside, a bloke sat next to me gave the excuse that he needed to leave early so he could get a good seat for the Saturday night 'turn' at the 'workies'.
Was it Sticky Vicky?
(The 'turn' not the bloke)

I always stay till the end, even when we've been losing heavily. Yesterday I had to quickly take my son to the toilet at about 87 minutes. We were back up in the stands by the time Mowatt was lining up the free kick on the edge of the area. The upside of people leaving so early was that we were able to take up a seat a bit further back and get out of the ground quicker at full time.

It's all personal choice and I understand it. Especially for those who travel from further away. I travelled to watch the Man City/United women's game in December and despite it being a good, close game, we left around 89 minutes because otherwise we'd have been stuck around the Etihad for ages, and had a 2 and a half hour journey back home ahead of us. However the fact that I was watching as a neutral made it a little easier to leave the ground early, if it was Middlesbrough or England then things would have been different.

I don’t notice it at the time but was surprised how empty the ground was after watching the goal on the Twitter video thread.

It's not for anyone else to get, it's a choice people make for their own reasons. Similar to why some people choose to take their seat just before kick off or why people go early for refreshments and miss some of the game or will queue and miss some of the game. Similar as to why some people wear a replica top, or scarf or sing and some don't, people choose to do their own thing and if they miss out, that's fine they paid their money and make their choice.

If we stay to the final whistle we get stuck in the stands for 20 mins as bellends clog up the stairs.
Why are people who wait til the final whistle and queue up to leave (clogging up the stairs 🤷🏼‍♂️), bell ends?

Fair enough, you want to get away early and don’t want to be criticised, don’t then try to justify your reason on people who stay to applaud the team off..

UTB and BTFT…

I never ever leave early unless I’m getting a lift off my mate who rarely lasts beyond 85 minutes, which I was yesterday. Also my 6 year old has a short attention span and was cold/wet.

Never understand how wound up people get by people leaving early, each to their own. When I had my season ticket (many years ago now) I would leave a couple of minutes before the end to make sure I was back for my train. Nowadays when I go I stay till the end cos I’m driving back to Nottingham so it’s a long drive whatever time I leave.

Regular whinge about fans leaving early. It started at about 80 minutes with hundreds streaming out. WTF! The team are 3 nil up, playing probably the best football many fans can remember and people are sloping off. I just do. Not get it/ Even from a financial point of view it males the £s per minutes you watch far more expensive. Weird behaviour.
Was saying to my mate, it's got ridiculous now. 2 left behind us on 66 minutes. I've always said the walk up prices are too expensive at 34 for East Upper. Then they open up a new bit nearer the PNE fans, so clearly all walk ups, and people pouring out. What more do people want? Maybe people don't realise there's 95 + minutes these days.
I have clearly been wrong about the prices all these years.

Absolutely this. I always stay to the final whistle whatever the score and that is my personal choice.
I do know that there are people around where I sit who can't manage the stairs very well so regularly go down to the concourse and watch the last few minutes on the tv's.

It makes no sense pure mental. A few do it near me and they’ve missed crucial game defining goals. Not only do they miss out but it takes away from other fans, no one wants streams of people walking infront of you for the last 10-15 minuites and then finish the game sat on an empty row in an emptying stadium.

Does it happen with anything else? Do folks leave 15 minutes before the end of a film? Would these people go to a concert and leave before the big hits are churned out?
