He met his match in Mark Brennan, just spat my tea out reading that, more like Don Brennan.
So who was first?? You've got BOTH Robbo and Best down as second but still haven't told us number 1!He was second in the poll. Unsure which players voted it, but a man from mars would vote, best of the best.

I'm sure Robson was voted Manchester United's greatest ever player. It was on the end of the Robbo documentary.
So, in todays market, was he as good, as influential as say de Bruyne? Or maybe Yaya during his time? Declan Rice?
That good? Impressive.Declan Rice couldn't lace Robbo's boots.
The only player that comes close over recent times in an all around package was Gerrard.
Robbo is my favourite ever England player.
I'm not sure about that. He switched between midfield and defence in his youth games but was 23 when he got his first England cap, and was well established as a midfielder by then.considered as a defender when he was first picked for England.
That good? Impressive.
I'm too young to remember him playing, and i can just about remember him managing Boro. Whenever my Dad mentions old players i ask who they're like in todays game and the only one he says we don't have a like for like today, is Souness. He thought he was unreal.
It was Dean Glover on a New Year's fixture who matched Robbo.....as the Holgate sang 'Robson's scared of Deano'
Probably, great finish by Davenport too.....we really should have stayed up that season, and I reckon we might if we hadn't sold Glover to Port ValeIt really wasn't.
We sang that, but that was just to big up Deano who was our terrace hero hard man. No-one actually thought Robson was scared of him, we all knew Robson was scared of no-one.
Best game Mark Brennan ever had for us. He was sharp, barely misplaced a pass all game and actually wasn't caught in possession or lost the ball much either. He dictated the play, more than Robson who sat a little deep that game. Because of that Glover wasn't often directly up against him.
I remember it pretty vividly. It was a great team performance 1 to 11, but in the pubs afterwards nearly everyone thought Brennan was the best midfielder on show that day. Robson was very good too, just overshadowed for once. I developed a particular dislike for Mark Hughes that match, which then continued all the way through to his managerial career as well.
First picked as an Albion player and considered by Greenwood as the fella who might be able to play sweeper iirc, but Ron soon ditched those fancy foreign ways!I'm not sure about that. He switched between midfield and defence in his youth games but was 23 when he got his first England cap, and was well established as a midfielder by then.
Good side that, mind you Irish look decent too!Might have been considered as a sweeper but I don't think he ever played for England as a defender. This was the team sheet for his debut:
